we live with the choices we make in life. My question is if we have this option to live with our own choices, how do we know that on a daily basis we are doing the right thing? Such as driving your car, which is polluting the earth, buying fast food which is bad for you, going to lunch with a female co-worker if your married, etc....

Invest in doing the right things, make positive changes in other people and yourself.

As long as people tell stories about the great person who help them, or their parents, or grandparents you will be remembered for generations.

Your reward will be immorality.

""how do we know that on a daily basis we are doing the right thing? Such as...........""

These are Worldly Things...........

The Right Thing is KEEPING A HIGH MORAL STANDARD.

I honestly believe it is best learned from The Bible than from
the boys at the pool hall or Television programs.

We are told in The Bible to be good Stuarts of this Earth.

I dont think its as detailed as that.I think free will is as simple as , Free will to hurt or not hurt someone , free will to hurt or not hurt yourself , More or less free will on the 10 Commandments.Last I checked , driving a car , buying fast food arent in ther but , If you read between the lines , going to lunch w/ a female co worker if your married is.

You must have some beliefs to follow and if your beliefs are constantly getting you in trouble then its probably time for a change or to re-think those beliefs. And if its the opposite then keep on living that way but keep an open mind is a good thing !

All of your answers can be found in the Bible. If you have difficulty interpreting things, consult with a minister. I suggest a good Biblical Concordance to help you find the subjects which interest you.

I use "Where to Find It in the Bible", which has a listing of contemporary topics, including computers, mortgages, networking, and many other things.

you kinda answered your own question.....
when you have knowledge of a wrong doing, (car pollutes the earth ) you try to fix the problem any way you can.......knowledge of anything is responsibility....
you know fire is hot , don't touch it......you know that eventually the "questionable ingredients" in fast food is harmful ,, don't eat it .......we live with our choices, are responsible to others as a result of those choices ,and are ultimately , in the end , going to pay for the choices we make..............

You have a good point but no one is perfect and the fact is that people do things to serve themselves. That doesn't mean that people don't do selfless acts too but the general decisions made in every day life are for selfish purposes. One of the main reasons for this is that in todays society you cannot be selfless, otherwise you would be homeless, starving, and possibly dead.

We don't know, 100% sure, if what we're doing is right, because the definition of "right" changes through time. For example, in the 1950s, it'd be illegal for a black man & white woman to be married, or for homosexual men to have sex. In some areas, it's still right to have multiple wives.

"Right" is subject to interpretation.

All we can do is make what we consider contextually to be the best decision. There is no objective "best" decision: all decisions must be regarded in light of the totality of circumstances and effects.
