The 27 of next month is our sixth month anniversary. We don't celebrate them aside from a casual "hey it's been x months" and a really long nice kiss. But I feel like this is a pretty big deal, so I want to either get him something or plan something for us to do. I want it to be memorable not necessarily expensive. It doesn't have to be a big deal either. I'm just at a loss of waht to do,

Do you feel most people are or are not religious because of their parents? It seems to me that those that are strict christians, muslims, mormons, etc. are that way because of upbrining. How many of you are not in that situation?

Harvard Professor, Samuel Huntington in 1993 predicted the turmoil we see today in his piece "Clash of Civilizations" http://www.alamut.com/subj/economics/misc/clash.html

Anyone who has spent time serious time studying Islam knows the immense hatred Muslims have for western culture. Huntington understood this long ago. Unfortunately, while much of the world is able to get some exposure to American culture, Islamic culture is hidden in the shadows.

How do these culture compare?

Civil Rights: Islamic Countries basically have none, not in the broad western sense of the term.

Transparency: Muslims murder and threaten to murder western reporters for pieces they dont like...imagine being a journalist for a state run Islamic paper. No public access to government documents.

Society: Islamic Countries have the highest incest (due to the unnatural separation of sexes), illiteracy, and inter-family marriage rates in the world. Slavery persists. Honor killings persist.

If you think the middle east and the muslims are just a bunch of crazy warmongering savages then wouldn't you agree that it would have been a good idea never to meddle in their lives in the first place? I mean don't you find it more than a coincidence that they were very quite until after the west made a presence their? If you think they are so crazy don't you think they were best left alone?

The Mother of all Terrorists
To Be Taken Quite Literally!
For those of you who want "FACTS" and "FIGURES" and have the intellect to judge 'GOOD' from 'EVIL' and the courage to know and say out the TRUTH....for the rest you should stop here!

Ever since the United States Army massacred 300 Lakotas in 1890, American forces have intervened elsewhere around the globe 100 times. Indeed the United States has sent troops abroad or militarily struck other countries' territory 216 times since independence from Britain. Since 1945 the United States has intervened in more than 20 countries throughout the world.

Since World War II, the United States actually dropped BOMBS ON 23 COUNTRIES. These include: China 1945-46, Korea 1950-53, China 1950-53, Guatemala 1954, Indonesia 1958, Cuba 1959-60, Guatemala 1960, Congo 1964, Peru 1965, Laos 1964-73, Vietnam 1961-73, Cambodia 1969-70, Guatemala 1967-69, Grenada 1983, Lebanon 1984, Libya 1986, El Salvador 1980s, Nicaragua 1980s, Panama 1989,

do you think that G-d was mistaken for choosing Jews as His Chosen People? You think that He is that indecisive? And He can see in the future, so don't say that He didn't know that Jews were going to reject Je sus.

If I ask a Hindu, they will tell me that their gods are real the the Christian god is not. They believe just as strongly that they are right. A Muslim has his own holy book, the Koran, that he believes is the truth just as a Christian believe the bible is the truth. There are so many religions in the world, with so many people absolutly convinced that they have the right one. What makes Christianity the "right" religion?

(Just in case you don't know, I'm an Agnostic, just curious about what sort of answers I'll get here...)

i hate the word "normal". its prejudicial and judgemental. and all these questions that ask, "is it normal to..." are silly at best.

who's to say what's normal or not? and please dont say "society",
that's a cop-out to not take individual responsibility.

Okay so what about dogs, gods creatures as well, that obviously haven't read Moses ten laws and can't really live up to it. Where are they going?

Hope you get the question between the lines and don't think I'm worried about a dog!

Why do so many of you idolize my Mexican Gardener? Just because his name is Jesus is no reason to worship him. Even I know that. But half of you nutbags get all up in arms when I tell you that he has a gardening issue and then tell me Im going to hell for trying to help him. Even if he did have the power to send me to hell he wouldnt cause I just bought him a brand new John Deere.

Are you having issues distinguishing your Jesus Christ to my Jesus Chirsto? Come on - my gardener is 5 feet tall, has a molestache, is all sweaty and dosent speak english. You cant serriously expect us to believe that you "know your god" when you couldnt pick him out of a lineup full of mexican gardeners.
