If I ask a Hindu, they will tell me that their gods are real the the Christian god is not. They believe just as strongly that they are right. A Muslim has his own holy book, the Koran, that he believes is the truth just as a Christian believe the bible is the truth. There are so many religions in the world, with so many people absolutly convinced that they have the right one. What makes Christianity the "right" religion?

(Just in case you don't know, I'm an Agnostic, just curious about what sort of answers I'll get here...)

I don't practice any religion any more, and I know for me it has been a spiritual journey as I have come out of the fundamental Christian church....

I base my spiritual walk on the teachings of Christ because they make sense to me and bring me peace....I can easily talk to a Buddhist and find much common ground....I can talk to a Hindu and we understand common experiences.....

I met a Jewish man the other day at the hospital...He and his wife were having a baby and he is Orthodox...He said there is a real move in his age group (later 20s to early 30s) to return to their roots of Judaism...He and I really connected. He was kind and humble....I was impressed by his knowledge and grace....He did not have the attitude of being better than anyone else...He was just walking his spiritual path...And he respected mine.

The only type of person that I continually have conflict with are the fundamentalists, as much as I try, they can't relate to my experiences, and they feel the need to tell me that I am walking a wrong path....An example is my own mother.

I tried to counsel my mom for the past 14 years to please come out of the church....It is literally killing her....She is horribly addicted to religion as she is down to about 100 lbs from fasting all the time to try to please her mean God and never getting any peace....Well, she finally got tired of my trying to help and she went to her prophetess buddies at church and they confirmed that I am controlling and proud and totally out of God's will...

So, I would not recommend any religion....I would simply say seek truth and you will find it.

I really think that any person who has a strong belief in a religion chooses it because simply they think it is the right one. Therefore, all the others must be wrong.

As a Christian, I truely believe that my faith (I don't count Christianity as a religion) is right as I know many other Christians do. I'll give you my reasons.
- I gave my life to Jesus 8 years ago and since then, I feel the Holy Spirit working in me. The feeling is completely indescribable and no one understands it until they are saved themselves. But every Christian has this feeling and, to me, that is one big proof that He's real.
- The world itself is a huge testimony. Everything is just so perfect from our human bodies to the tiny little insects to a plant's photosynthesis. There is no way I believe it all happened by accident.
- The Bible has never been proven false. So many of the prophecies came true and are still coming true today.
- And as someone else said, Jesus did exist. And Jesus died. And then Jesus rose from the dead. With witnesses.

Those are my reasons. I won't tell you what to believe. That is your free will. I will gladly share my views though because I believe that Jesus is the only way for eternity in heaven and that God gives everyone plenty of chances to accept His gift. I would wish this gift for anyone.

i always think that, like in africa, the tribesmen never heard of jesus, and in most middleeastern countries they are only taught the koran and nothing else no math, science,or anything else of that matter,i wonder how christians can say the bible is true when so many in the world dont even know it exists.but here in the usa we have a song that represents us as a nation and it involves god" god shead his light on thee" so we are forced to here god no matter what, which is wrong because god and state should be seperated, either way the bibles of the world are opinions of men and have been changed over time man manipulates everything

The only answer is that they are all right.... to the believer. And that is the way it should be. Perhaps everyone is just worshiping a different facet of the same gem that is the Divine or perhaps everyone is completely wrong (except the atheists) but I think that as long as your religion works for you and you are not harming others then that is all that matters.

There is no ONE religion for EVERYONE but there is A religion for each INDIVIDUAL.

Blessed Be )O(

Hey Girl Wonder,

I am of mixed heritage Muslim/Christan but i would class my self as a Muslim.
Everyone has the choice to believe in what faith or no faith it is entirely a personal choice and freedom.
Just because i have my beliefs i do not agree with forcing them on anyone and don't expect people to force there faith on me.

The only "right" religion is the one that makes you as an individual feel right. It's going to be different for each person.

I realize some individuals of certain religions will disagree with my statement. Eh. I don't care. *grin*

I asked my Christian parents the same question when I was 11. I got screamed at and basically told "Because the bible says so".

“If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism.” Albert Einstein

It's one of the few older religions that is close to the truth. New Age is also.

I agree with Wright Sense... buddhism doesnt have that "invisible deity" thing ... plus, from the little i've read of it, buddhism stresses "reason" and questioning everything

the new age stuff .. umm...are there supernatural beings or ghosties envolved? if so, i dont agree with that part
