All babies are beautiful in the eyes of their parents.

I've seen some pretty "homely" babies before, and I've noticed it's because of asymmetrical features. (Huge eyes, bulbous noses, ears that stick out and one is slightly lower than the other, a mouth that's too small, etc.)

I would never EVER tell a parent that their child is ugly, because that's very hurtful and downright mean and would accomplish nothing. When I see babies at the grocery store or mall, I always speak to them and tell the parents they're beautiful or adorable or gorgeous. If I see a baby that's "not so cute" I still speak and say, "Oh what a sweetheart!" or "Such a happy baby...hi sweetie!"

No not all babies are beautiful to everyone, but, if you ask a new mom, she will say that her baby is the most beautiful thing on earth. Even if you don't think so. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I always say that the baby is beautiful or cute, because that is what the parents want to hear. Encouragement is always positive.

Most newborns are NOT pretty(unless they are yours) but it wouldn't be a sin to lie and tell the new parents the baby is beautiful. Or if that would compromise your ethics just say " How adorable!" then smile and act as if you can't take your eyes off the infant for about 30 seconds and that should suffice. To say nothing implies you think the baby is not attractive and why hurt the happy parents needlessly?

Not all babies are beautiful. I always say, "look at you, oh you are so small, what a sweet baby, what a cute outfit, etc." This way you have just cooed over the baby and nobody's feelings get hurt. I told my friend if I don't think a baby is cute, I will compliment the outfit. She had a baby and it was ugly (hairy ears and shoulders, pimply, etc. I said, "oh, look at you, what tiny hands," She told me after she was waiting for me to compliment the outfit and was glad when I didn't. I can't lie and I wouldn't want to hurt anyone.

Want the rest of us to put our feet in our mouths, don't you? lol You ask a question & plead the 5th. Nice. No they're not all beautiful, but I'll say one thing I have found that the uglier they are when little, no one turns out more beautiful as grown ups, I swear. Pay attention you'll see what I mean.

All babies are not beautiful.....because if you put two very ugly people 9/10 times your not gonna get a pretty baby. For the same reasons why so many kids get picked on in school.....too many ugly people layin' down makin' ugly babies!

Personally, I prefer my babies with 4 legs and a tail! I try to stay away from baby people, as they make me uncomfortable. When confronted with a mother that insists I need to see her pride & joy I generally smile & say "How proud your mamma is!"

If you don't think the baby is particularly cute, or is downright ugly, you can still say "You must be so pleased."
All parents are pleased as punch about their little one. In this way you haven't lied about your true feelings, and it appears like you gave the parents a compliment about their child. :o)

no way! my mom's friend "Margaret" has a right ugly granddaughter. It's usually not that hard to find one pretty feature, though. For example, the baby "Carissa" has an ugly face overall, but long eyelashes, so i just cooed over her eyes for a minute

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To say that all babies are beautiful ............. that would be like saying that everyone who cooks is a chef....
