i hate the word "normal". its prejudicial and judgemental. and all these questions that ask, "is it normal to..." are silly at best.

who's to say what's normal or not? and please dont say "society",
that's a cop-out to not take individual responsibility.

It shouldn't be banned, but it's too widely used. I think people only seem normal until you get to know them anyway. but i personally don't use the word "normal" cuz i'm not. no one really is. i agree with you though. do you want naked pics from me 2?

Normal can be comforting too! I know a lot of times were I have been comforted by the fact that "it's normal to feel this way." "It's normal to go through this." Normal is a useful word. Yes it's judgemental, but so is your use of the word hate and silly. Do you propose all words with possible negative meanings be banned? And you're dictate to not say society is prejudicial. You're not accepting answers based on preconcieved judgements that it is not acceptable. Is it normal to be hypocritical?
The thing is, normal is relative to meaning. What's normal for one is not for another. But while it can be misused (what words can't?) it happily changes to conform with society.

I think that people want to be able to identify with a so called "normality" that way they do not feel left out, or different from everyone else. Normal is boring, and it shouldn't be used as a rule of thumb to classify things. But getting rid of the word all together would not be such a good idea, there would be nothing for the simpler things to be identified by.

Normal is my least favorite word. I am on the anti-normal bandwagon.
