It appears that you once had a testimony. Christian-Lite isn't doing it for you. You have a life style that will be accepted else where, but you're still missing something.
Dont forget where you came from and whose child you are.

I am sorry this has happened. I have been an LDS church member all my life, and I have never been unhappy with its' teachings. We are, as you say, 'gay-friendly', because we believe that everyone has the right to choose what they want in life or what to do/say. However, we also believe that marriage or relationships should be between a man and a woman, no other. I understand why you were excommunicated, but you really have to think about it; what is it that you really want out of this? If you believe in the Church, if you believe in its' teachings, then you might understand why things are the way they are. I'm sure if you talk to your ward Bishop or Stake President, you may be able to come to a better decision with this.

I have my Masters of Divinity and I'm a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, so you can take my advice how you want. I am also gay and a conservative.
I went to seminary at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, they are with the UCC (United Church of Christ.) You will find their methods very similar to other protestant denominations. The Unitarian Universalist is, by far, the most gay and accepting church there is, even as far as having gay rainbow flags waving on their lawns, however too liberal in my opinion. You should investigate the UCC Church and see what you think.
The answers above will welcome you in just to tell you that you're going to hell in a hand-basket. The ignorance demonstrated above shows you that we are not too distant from the era of Salem Witch Trials.
After attaining my M.Div., I did not take my calling to minister a UCC church, because of my education in world religions. My faith was lost after having completed a thesis on religions prior to Christ....almost every story is found in our Holy Bible...needless to say, I lost my religion. I do encourage faith though in any denomination or religion. Keep in mind, you do not have to be religious to be spiritual.
My grandfather was a minister with the Free Methodist church and it's definately, what I would call, and old time religion, but you will find their congregation to be very friendly and hospitable. But, do not expect the sermons to vere away from the condemnation of homosexuals.
I have a great directory that i've had since seminary, as well as some great contacts within the UCC church, which dates back to the Reformation, so it's not a NEW liberal, gay church, but they DO ordain gay ministers and That, my friend, is a good sign of a good church. Most UCC churches are listed as FREE AND ACCEPTING, if this is the case, some are more conservative than others. Contact me and i'll be happy to assist you in your endeavor.
Kind Regards,
CB

The best place to go is down to your knees, Hun. If you know the Bible, then you know that homosexuality is a sin, just like any other sin. God will deal with it, just the way He deals with any other sin.
God deals with sin through Jesus Christ...
You can either confess and repent, and let Jesus help you to get the sin out of your life, or you can choose to live in defiance of God. There is no middle ground, here.
You can't expect God to let you walk into His living room, put your feet up on His Golden Coffee Table, and say, "Look, God, I'm gay, You'll just have to accept me this way"...
I really don't think that attitude would last very long.
Do you??

Well, congradulations on getting out of the LDS.
However, I can say with no personal judegement, that as a practicing homosexual, you're not going to find many "gay friendly" christian churches.
Surely, you know about all the old arguments (abominations & such). Please don't misunderstand - it's not neccesarily the homosexual part of it, it's the practicing part of it.
Just like a person living a permiscuous lifestyle would be admonished by friends & church family, a practicing homosexual will be too. I'd say this is in everyone's best spiritual interest.
Point is, if you expect to be able to walk into church holding hands with your partner, you're going to get some sideways glances.

I agree with luvwinz, Free Methodist will accept you, but what you are doing is a sin, and unless you stop, ask forgiveness and repent, you will not go to heaven. I'm sure you know the truth.
God Bless!

Read your Bible. It says there that homosexuality is a sin. If you do not believe this, then you don't believe the Bible. Or, maybe we're all just interpreting it incorrectly and there is a church that has interpreted it to fit your needs. All can be found on Wikipedia.
