I believe in being prepared and, at my advancing age, I know I won't be around forever. Therefore, if you want to contact anyone on the other side, I'll be happy to transmit your messages.

i just want the artist. the lyrics arnt perfect. im goin by memory here. lol.

I beleive that there are streets of gold
But I will be just fine if all there is is one old gravel road
I hear that theres a mansion waiting
But a cabin will suit me fine
Just as long as theres a place where I can rest my heavy load

Because thats all that matters to me
To bow my head and thank my blessed savior on my knees
On the hills of glory in his presence i will be
to know im home
thats all that matters to me.

Ok, i am doing this in the odd chance that a mormon will come across this. I have been raised mormon, but now i am faling away, not going to church, skipping seminary, not going to mutual, things like that. I have been feeling alot of anger towards the church cause in my mind it seems that whatever problem i have i am supposed to pray to god for help. Well, i suffer from depression and that hasn't helped me, and i have been struggling spiritually. Also, my friends who go to church hurt me alot with the way they act towards me and my 'issues' and stuff, so i think that may be why i am so against going now. So, what can i do to get back? Please though, no flamers or anythign, i would just like constructive advice and stuff. thanks to anyone that reads this. =>

Ok, I see straight marriges dissolve everywhere, and children and families are torn apart because of it. The Divorce rate of Heterosexuals has been astronomically high, and often one of the parties discovers their homosexuality. What about Gay Partners rasing/adopting Children?
Are you HOMOPHOBIC, and if so for other than religious reasons, why? Insecure about your Marrige? Insecure about your own sexuality? If you are straight & secure in your relationship & sexual orientation, why does it bother you?
I am straight and have many Gay friends and even a few extended family members are gay, so saying I am neive or other blatantly arrogant or ignorant, and nasty comments about me will not work, but will be reported.

Professor Thomas Nagel in his 1997 book The Last Word wrote,

"I want atheism to be true and am made uneasy by the fact that some of the most intelligent and well-informed people I know are religious believers. It isn’t just that I don’t believe in God and naturally, hope there is no God! I don’t want there to be a God; I don’t want the universe to be like that."

Honestly, how many atheists here feel the same way as Thomas?

If my children were nihilists like me, christians would say that I had forced or coerced them to be so. But this is never said of christian families, why?

the thing was I didn't think this person would really come here, so I sort of posted this address on one of her myspace blogs. Then I kept typing in the yahoo chat room that she was not going to come here. But does that matter? I mean would she be able to use that as justification for coming here if I were to call the police? I just need to know that. Because she is 29 and I am 20. Also, I can't talk to my mother about this because she is always around her friend, and her friend will just say I am complaining and yell at me. My mother also acts like she gets upset if I try to talk to her about anything personal. I just need to make sure that a person will not be able to use the fact that I dared them to come here as justification for coming here. Because my daring them to do so still does not justify them coming here and attacking me. They should know to just not do that. Am I right?

I saw this quote, and for me it really sums up my struggle with accepting Christ. I was a Pagan and I completely rejected Christianity. Pushy Christians forced religion at me, and I closed my eyes to it all.But once I read the Bible for myself, I opened my heart to the message I accepted Christ and realised that it was not about a guilt trip, God truly does Love us, and I felt whole.♥

For you has faith been a journey?

I was at a gate in Iraq while deployed searching workers to be brought on post. A little kid w/a cap gun was running around pointing at a convoy. We got his attention and tried to communicate to drop the weapon, he pointed at us. We all had guns drawn n pointed at him. Luckily, his mother came out of his house across the street yelling loudly, she came n grabbed him n thanked us for not shooting n went home. By the way, toy guns there look real. Complete mock up of the real thing without any tell tale signs that its a toy. So, if he would have shot off his toy gun, what would u do? I still don't think to this day I would have killed a 5 year old, he's too innocent to know what he's doing.

Anyone who pays close attention to the Old Testament will see that God is rather rough around the edges - rudely barking rebukes and committing deplorable social faux pas, such as indelicately telling people to kill their children without so much as a perfunctory "please." Clearly, the God of the Old Testament is no one a civil person would have in his home. Jesus, on the other hand, while hardly poised, is so thoroughly pleasant (except to that dreadful mother of His, who was always pestering Him in public for more wine), that one can easily overlook his lack of polish. Every time I find myself wanting to correct Him on some inartfully phrased request or awkward social contretemps, I remind myself "Well, he is rather well behaved for a carpenter."
