Growing up I always heard that since Jesus died on the cross, the New Testament was what we are supposed to follow. If that is true, then what about the 10 commandments? Please explain this, to the best of your ability. I do not pretend to be the slightest bit intelligent about religion, although I am very curious and would like to know more. This question is not being asked out of hate or criticism. Please do not take offense. I am truly wanting to know the answer.

Serious answers only please...I don't knock you for your choice in questions or religion, please don't bash me for mine!

The existence of the soul can be proven.
human beings study the visible world and from these events can create purely spiritual realities called IDEAS. If you see a criminal being punished, the mind forms the idea of "justice". JUSTICE is a universal abstract concept that is a SPIRITUAL REALITY. It is impossible for something material to create something spiritual. Only the SOUL can do this because everybody has a soul.
how many agree?

I am a spiritual person. I am not religious per se, but believe in God. I don't believe in having a denomination. I believe there is good and evil surrounding us all the time. I pray all the time for God's help and to show me his will and that he will send his angels to fight off the demons that are always trying to attack my weaknesses as a person. I believe God is so great, we just can not imagine his wisdom, love, grace and mercy. I believe there is a devil. I think he is cunning, destructive, finds pleasure in ruin and loves to mislead us any way he can. Even when bad things happen to me, I thank God for the lessons I have learned, each and everyone of them. I am grateful to be so blessed. I wonder how others face the woes of any given day, how they stay centered, strong and focused. I wonder if others believe in prayer, diligence, patience and by giving of ones self and love to others because all things work for good in God's plan. I believe my judge is God only. I am a realist.

If not, does that make him/her/it real? If so, does that make you a polytheist. In turn, if you admit to being a polytheist, are you also a heritic.

My question is based on what many Christians deem as "logic". I want to know how or why my "God" is or isn't real based on this logic scheme.

Check my definitions if you must, but they are indeed solid. So lets avoid a war of symantics and get down to the "nitty gritty".

Please, no impertinent Bible quotes.

I love you all, I probably wouldn't like some of you, but my love is unconditional.

I hope to see you all in heaven.

in fact I would say you are all atheists. The only difference between you and I, is that I beleive in one less god than you do.

Now when you figure out why you dismiss all those other gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

I'm not looking for "World Peace," "End to Hunger," or stuff like that. What concrete innovation will make this world a better place in our times? And...go! :)

God is not not a religion He is Love

Manmade things cause religion and war.

True Love does not.

Man tries to distort love and justify wrongs, but in the long run this is truly not possible.

We have freewill which is God given, so we must learn to be wise with our choices.

When people see that God is Love and The Creator, and that we are simple limbs of the same body, only then can we move forward together.

We cannot progress separately, we must unite, in LOVE!!!

Peace

Then why are so many afraid of the death penalty? Our famous kid killer here, Davis, recently had a drug overdose in his cell. What a rape of justice.

To be honest, I'm not religious, I just want to know what draws people to believe in God. I'm not looking for any "Bible thumping" wackos to post here...I'm looking for people that have real answers like... "I'm afraid to die, and that scares the **** out of me"...Something real, something about YOU, or about your life.
