Carefull ! Love and hate are related. I love a few people, like a few more, don't care about many, dislike some and hate a few. All is balanced !

I sure wish I knew the real answer to that question. I think if you truely love yourself, you have to love others. Like you said, it is hard to like some people, but you can still love humankind.

we can't all love each other. god made us unique by giving us multitude of emotions. we need hate as we need love. if we are all lovers instead of fighters, then the ppopulation of this planet would exceed (i.e. we would be killing each other for space and resources).
