I'm reading a lot of bogus stuff today as usual. Just wanted to make a couple of points and feel free to agree or disagree and this is based on my life's expirience.

WHo is smarter?

Atheists are just as smart as theists, no group is "smarter"
Whites and blacks and hispanics and asians are all equally "smart"
Men are just as "smart" as women,
Gays are just as "smart" as straight people, and just as "smart" as bissexual"

I have noticed that "smarts" is something that everyone shares, but the output I get from people is based on a few things,

1. Interest, 2. Exposure to the topic.

Example: The Bible. I am an atheist who is reading the Bible. I have the potential to be just as smart about what it says as an atheist. I'm also a white person. I can be just as smart about the Bible as a black or a hispanic or an Asian person, I'm heterosexual, but I can be just as smart on the Bible as a gay or a bisexual person.

I can accept non-belief of most of the gods our society has, however I cannot accept the idea of 100% atheism, the believe that there are no gods, whatsoever.

Until we reach the technological level where we can understand everything about our universe in it's entirety (perhaps becoming Gods ourselves?), there is no way to say for sure that there isn't a god somewhere, having some inflence over some part of the universe.

There are still even parts of our own local world that are not completely nailed down by science, such as global weather patterns. Any sane meteorologist will tell you there is no way to absolutely predict the weather, especially over periods any longer than a few days. For all we know now, there could be a weather god subtlely influencing it all.

What reasoning can you give that gets around this problem of us not having complete knowledge?

In the end, that seems like such a shallow and empty motivation. Are you really only a good person because you want to be awarded in heaven, or are afraid of hell or god? What kind of barbaric morality is that? Would you be a good person if there were no heaven or hell or god watching you? Is that really the only reason you think makes a person do the right thing?

What do you think about having friends who inocently lie to you about things all the time becuase they think it is funny? The longer they can keep you hanging, the funnier theythink it is. Unfortunately it is at one persons expense.

"The following probabilities are taken from Peter Stoner in Science Speaks (Moody Press, 1963) to show that coincidence is ruled out by the science of probability. Stoner says that by using the modern science of probability in reference to eight prophecies, 'we find that the chance that any man might have lived down to the present time and fulfilled all eight prophecies is 1 in 1017." That would be 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. In order to help us comprehend this staggering probability, Stoner illustrates it by supposing that "we take 1017 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They will cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man."
Stoner considers 48 prophecies and says, "we find the chance that any one man fulfilled all 48 prophecies to be 1 in 10157, or 1 in 10,00,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 000,000,000."

Was my question that bad? Im gonna try it again. I'm curious.

I have a theory that there could be a "science" to "faith" Maybe faith is an ingenious plot to see our true self. Example. Poker game. Teacher tells 2 students "I've givenyou the book on how to play cards, now it's time for you to take over from here" Student A takes what he learns from the book and makes a "conclusion" that 4 aces lie in his unshown hand, and makes a bet. In the next hand the teacher shows Student B the 4 Aces he has, and the student makes a bet on what he saw with his own eyes.
Which student deserves the money the most? The one who bet on "faith" or the one who bet on what was proven?
My belief is that Christians, when asked about how things began, answer with "Because it just is, and God did it " and Atheists answer with "We can't prove there is a God, so there must not be one" What do you think?

Have you all really taken a good look at your accumulations? Why is so much stuff needed? I am a simple person who tries to get by on the basics, I regularly cull out possesions to give to the Goodwill etc, but for some odd reason I looked around this morning and wondered....why we as humans need so much darn STUFF! Any ideas what compels us?

(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.

The human genome has been mapped and living creatures have been cloned, fact.

We can identify where, why and how likely people are to develop diseases and conditions based on their genetic makeup. It's possible that in time we will be able to cure any disease and create humans who are stronger, faster, live longer and think quicker than anything the world has seen before.

So, if god created this genome and these sequences and we can potentially take these sequences, read and re-write them however we like and we can take existing or extinct creatures and re-create them using cloning we could use those skills to take a world like our own which was barren of life and place life on the planet of our own design, or at the very least a variation of 'Gods' original designs... The only barrier left is to terraform a planet ..!

Once that happens would that make us Gods, and if not, why not..?
