I am a Born Again Christian, and I've been through a life of verbal/emotional abuse my whole life from my father, then to a long relationship boyfriend.

I fight the tears everynight, but pray to God, to send me the man of my dreams.

I do everything for God, I love him very much, and my life without him is worthless.

If I pray all the time for the right Christian Godly Man, will God send me one one day?

I've just been going through a time of depression/and etc.

It hurts my soul, and im beautiful, and i have no reason to be insecure.

as a race are we really so insercure that we need to belive in god
do we need him as are cruch, is it because life here and now is so bad , with all the nasty things in this so called life that we need to belive that there is a better place for us to go when we die .

I was out with my friend in a public place, and we noticed that this ugly, gross, over-makeup-itized girl and her equally disgusting friends (they go to my school, but I don't know them personally,)were making fun of this other person. The other person wasn't saying anything back, but was trying to ignore them. They were being sickeningly mean with how they were acting.

I don't know, I always get angry when I see someone getting made fun of. So... I began talking to my friend very loudly about how pathetic the gross, ugly girl was. She noticed, and she said "Do you got' a problem' wit' me?" in her ghetto tone, and I said "No, I just think you're a complete low-life."

She stopped... and I don't know, I wasn't sure if it was my place to tell her to stop. Was I out of line?

Isn't it the right thing to do to stick up for someone being made fun of?

Then why do humans have so many problems resulting from evolution? like due to our evolving smaller mouths (from a more gentler diet over the past few hundred/thousand years) most people need to have their wisdom teeth removed when they reach a certain age. does this smack of perfect design to you?

womens increased knee stress due to evolved larger birth canals and pelvises to accomodate larger brained babies is another example.

Some people say Satan is blinding people and stopping them from believing in him. How is Satan doing this? Is he using things like the theory of evolution, the da vinci code etc to do this? Did he put contradictions in the Bible to trick us? I'm confused how is satan blinding non believers?

I thing god should have the four think :
1) The God should not be more than one
2) God is a creator and it should be like a creatiour
3) And thts why he should not have a father and son (as this is the men quality )

I am looking for the names of the 3 main characters in this Native American Legend. To my knowledge the legend is from the Northeast of the US.

There was a woman who loved a young man and wanted to marry him. However, another man, too, wanted her to become his wife. It was decided that both men should swim across a very wide river and bring her berries from a tree that hung its twigs over the water at the other side.
Her lover turned out to be the better swimmer, however, on the way back he was stabbed by his opponent who wrestled the berries from his hand and left him to drown.
When he returned to the shore with his trophy, totally exhausted, the woman killed him by kicking him back into the water and then drowned herself to be united with the man she loved.

What were the names of the three persons? If I recall correctly, a river, or a town or state was named after the woman.

I'm not trying to be confronational here. I was simply curious. I don't need to know what your beliefs are or if you read it or not. I was thinking of my mothers generation and how most of them had a Bible in the household. Then I was thinking how I don't and should my child show a curiosity, I might want to have one for her to read. I am curious to know if not having a Bible in my house makes me a minority or majority? Also curious to know if yearly household income has any realtion to Bible or no Bible, so feel free to include that number if you want to.... Thanks for info.

I already see it now. Fundamentalists Christians will quote Gospel and say Jesus is the only way. If there were any fundamentalist Muslims left they would say there is one God allah.

Fundamentalist atheists are about to tell me there is no God.

How come there are some people who say there is more than one path to God?

Every religion claims that it is only their radical fundamentalists that are the problem. None of these religions clean there own houses, do they? You really want to call yourselves peaceful religions? Clean up your own damn radical fundamentalists so we don't have to deal with. Your fundamentalists should be your problem, not the rest of the world's.

It is a story about a king who loved to eat. One time the cook made a goose so good he couldn't resist eating one of the legs. Feeling remorse, and worry, there was nothing to do except serve the bird to the king anyway. He denied eating the leg, saying that it only came with one leg. The king vowed to put him to death. In the end, the cook saves himself by showing the king a row of flamingos or some other bird with one leg tucked up under, thus proving it only had one leg in the first place. Where can I find this story in print?

Now, this is troubling me. How one human being can behead another without any emotion or feelings? Is hatred that intense to resort to extremes? Does the good book allow this? or, are the followers interpret it to suit their own cause?

I can try to understand a fit of rage - or circumstances that force one person to kill another (I do not condone that either) - but beheading? It is barbaric to say the least.
