I am a Caucasian born in the USA now living in another country. I think there are major differences in blacks within the different regions of the USA. It is not possible to truly understand minority issues unless you are a minority, and if you are not from an oppressed race it is even harder to understand. Comparing European blacks or Asian blacks with an American black is not possible, in my opinion. I could come up with some demographic information, but I cannot ever describe the FEELINGS of an American ethnic minority, and I certainly cannot compare southern USA blacks to Egyptian blacks.
I find Americans to be more verbal about the intolerance they display in their society. That does not necessarily mean other countries are more tolerant of minorities ; it means Americans are very opinionated and unafraid to express how they feel.
I think there is worldwide racial/ethnic profiling. It has always existed. Good luck on your study !

OK. I'm so white I could be the poster boy for "Honky". I am, like all people, prejudiced in some regards. I am not a racist, but have seen it all my life, even within my own family. I've had many black friends in my life, including room mates and living with a white/black couple for a year to help them raise their infant.
That being said, I have noticed a difference between American blacks and those from other countries. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what it is. I'm certain the difference comes from, differences in acculturation; but am at a loss as to explain the significance.
Some observations I've made: I've always had big dogs, and I noticed long ago - and others verified the observation was accurate - that many American blacks don't like big dogs, and all of my dogs have always been immediately suspicious. On the other hand, I also have black friends living here in the U.S. who were raised in Europe. My dogs without exception love this man. What's the difference? I don't know - my best guess is that their body language is difference because of differences in acculturation.
And - all THAT being said - what's the difference?

It's a very sad subject, because I've ask that question many of times. I notice that foreign blacks look at black American differently. I do have a female and male friend from Hatti and the female would say the reason some black foreigners don't like black Americans is because we got here in America and didn't look out for their county or any parts of Africa"stating the county in which every African American was born and raised at". She stated that is why foreigner don't like American blacks and that is what make us different. I think it's sad because we as African American had no choice as to where we were born and raised . It's also hard for someone to say that we should go back to Africa and pick up from our past when we as African Americans has never been or lived in africa. I myself has never been to Africa , I would love to go and visit. But I ask myself would I want to go and live in Africa now knowing the condition ? And yes i'm african american.

Of course there are, just as there are differences between white Americans and white Europeans. It's a matter of culture. An American is an American because he/she embraces what this country stands for. Just as a Frenchman, irrespective of his/her race, will defend La Belle France or an Englishman will give his/her all for Jolly Olde England.
And I'm mostly Heinz57 white: Prussian, Alsatian, French, English, Irish, Scots, ,,,,,,,,, and 1/8 Kiowa; just for spice.

I believe so. It all depends on a nation's attitude towards blacks. In America, we had to--and arguably still have to--deal with the slavery and the repurcussions that come with it. Other nations, I've come to believe, do not have long-lasting historical baggage such as this shaping their attitudes towards blacks. I do believe that black culture has probably closed some of the gap, just as american culture as a whole permeates most of the world in some degree, though I doubt that blacks in other parts of the world (except for Africa itself and the whole Apartheid issue) have really had to deal with such a history of deep rooted anguish as American blacks.

I am "white" with both native American and African American great grandparents.
there seems to be no difference aside from culture really.
Most of them i meet from other countries seem really happy and good natured, while most from America just have American attitudes like whites.
Sarcastic and ungrateful to be alive. But that's not just blacks, it's all races.

If we are not using physical differences then what the hell do you mean? Isn't there a difference between Americans and foriegners of any color shape and size?
Because I'm white did I not get the handbook on how to act your color no matter what continet your from?
If they all were alike then how would we know who are the foriegners? If an american and a foriegner were in a forrest would the hear a tree fall?

The only difference is physical. The Black American who comes from slave gene pools is superior to other blacks in that the weak genes died making the journey from Africa to America, that is why Black Americans have excelled in every sport or careers that require muscle and speed.

Well I'm half Brasilian black and there are still some people who would not consider me black. There are differences in music tastes too but I guess thats more because of the culture but I would say there are subtle differences. There are also people who don't think Brasilian blacks are really black, but thats me. Sorry for confusing you:)
