Some people say Satan is blinding people and stopping them from believing in him. How is Satan doing this? Is he using things like the theory of evolution, the da vinci code etc to do this? Did he put contradictions in the Bible to trick us? I'm confused how is satan blinding non believers?

I believe Satan is NOT blinding anybody.

There are different opinions, there are different ideas. Just because someone doesn't like them does NOT make them the work of evil.

Evolution has evidence. You can choose to believe or disbelieve...that doesn't make it wrong.

The Da Vinci Code has evidence within the history it portrays. You can believe the theories or disbelieve them. Neither choice is evil.

Contradictions are in the bible because the bible was written by man. Whether it's the word of God or not is controversial enough, but it was put to paper by humans who put their own thoughts, ideas, suspicions, and opinions in there.

"Satan is blinding everyone" is the comment of those who would rather keep a narrow view, because widening it, respecting the opinions of others, and accepting that their views could be incorrect is too difficult.

Yes. Satan created those things, to make people believe in false doctrines. He destroyed God's creation of Marriage, by having people go Las Vegas and Marry out of Drunk. He made God's sin for Divorce something that wasn't bad to do. He made God's creation of se perverted and a tool by establishing Pornography, Masturbation, Strip Clubs, Prositution, and etc. He created violence/murder, by saying it's okay.

If he does this, more and more people will be blinded by Satan's creations. Satan Blinds and Deafens.

He can blind Believers too. Not just Non Believers. Satan can make a Believer, lose his faith with God.

Just like we learned in the last God's Love study, chapter 17, Satan has made non-believers AND JWs blind to the protection (fence) Jehovah gives us to the world. The example in the God's Love book was about how we are walking in a pleasant park, when we notice a fence, and very irresistible scenery behind the fence. What we don't notice is the fierce lion stalking prey behind the fence. We have to realize that Jehovah puts up boundaries (otherwise the fence) for our protection. We know that if we jump that fence there WILL be bad consequences. Just like Eve when Satan told her that she will "positively NOT die." Satan tries to make his world very appealing to us so that it becomes hard for us to stick with the boundaries Jehovah gave us so that we will fall. Satan wants every single person to suffer because he knows his time is ticking.

I think it stems from how people believe in the meaning of life. Many people believe God is real, but not so many believe Satan is real. I believe both are real and Satan wants to bind us so we can't return to God. I also believe that God gave us the gift of being above the beasts of the field to use judgement in our lives on this planet. Believer or not, we decide what is right and wrong, good and evil. Being a non-believer doesn't change the fact that there is evil in the world and opposition in all things.

Sister, Satan uses a variety of methods to accomplish his evil purpose. One of his most successful is to convince people that he doesn't exist. If you can accept that Satan doesn't exist, then he'll ask you to believe that God doesn't exist, either. When he wins that battle, he produces an Atheist (someone who doesn't believe in God).

Agnostics, such as yourself, come in two "flavors" -- either the "I'm not sure" or "I don't care" variety. The "I don't care's" seem to think that whether or not God exists really isn't relevant to their life ! They're too busy (self-important) with their job (or whatever) to ask questions like "Why am I here?" or "Is there a purpose to my life?" All of life's busy little distractions that keep a person from looking at the bigger picture are Satan's tools. He'll whisper "Why worry about God? Maybe you'll die and go to heaven, maybe you just die and that's where it ends. Who cares? You can't do anything about it." That's a LIE -- only YOU can decide if you go to heaven by following the teachings of Jesus' life. But if Satan convinces you that it's just not really anything you should care about, you are "blinded" to the truth.

The "I don't know" agnostics just aren't sure. They have no faith, and aren't even sure what faith is. Satan tempts them away from God by playing on their uncertainties and insecurities. "Religion is stupid" he'll argue. "Other people will make fun of you if you talk about God and The Bible".

Satan knows what your weakness is, and won't hesitate to exploit it to interfere in your relationship with God. That's as true for Christians as it is for atheists, agnostics, and those with other religious beliefs.

As for the theory of evolution, I believe in it, and it doesn't interfere with my relationship with God, or my belief that he created the universe.

The Da Vinci Code was a book, which was a work of fiction. Many of the things mentioned in the book actually exist, but what has so many Christians upset is that the author wrapped all of these true things around a fiction (lie) that sounds very Satan-inspired. If one does the work of the devil, one should expect to feel the heat !

The contradictions in The Bible come from the way The Bible was put together (too long to go into here). Let's just say, while it was God-inspired, it was human-produced, and no human endeavor was ever without its errors.

I hope that cleared up a few things. Basically, Satan is blinding non-believers by leading them astray from God. And he does it to believers, as well.

It is a mark of spiritual maturity to admit that we can be deceived. Studying the Bible helps us to understand the nature of the conflict and battle of the kingdoms for the souls of men. To ignore that it's happening is exactly what Satan wants. I'd rather stretch out at a picnic in Iraq.
