I posted this question in Society and Culture, but I'm thinking that may not have been the best place for it, so I'm going to try here. If you have already seen this question, I apologize. I just need some gut reactions. See below:

You enter an online discussion forum that you have never been in before, and you know nothing about any of the participants. Two participants (we'll call them A and B) are having a disagreement. During the course of the discussion, participant A calls participant B a "dark monkey," a phrase you cannot relate to the main discussion.

1.) What is your initial reaction to that phrase?

2.) What opinion does this give you about participant A (who typed the phrase)?

3.) What opinion does this give you about participant B (if any.)

Just need your quick gut reactions. Nothing too deep. Nobody's in court over this :) Thanks!

I witnessed a mother lightly spanking her child on the legs because he was grabbing items off the candy stands. Many of my fellow shoppers accuses her of abuse. And one called the police. Would you mind your own business or intercede?

... apparent states of social misery can be generally explained away through “simple” cultural observations and ingrained patterns of behavior?

Whom are we doing a favor (paying lip service to) here with our political correctness? Why are we so willing to exacerbate and prolong social misery by not addressing the core cultural issue of a nation in dire need of international assistance? Are we so afraid of being labeled bigots and racists that we prefer to see thousands of children die of hunger in Africa everyday? What’s wrong with demanding measurable social changes in exchange for our monetary (and otherwise) assistance?

Isn’t it like putting people on life-long governmental handouts here at home and slow cooking them in their own poverty-stricken juices vs. creating real working conditions for their impoverished communities? So, it’s always easier to throw some chump change at people and turn them into habitual beggars than ..........

We have Mr., Mrs., and Ms, but nothing else.
I admire, respect, and look up to my mentor, and we are becoming really good friends, but calling him by his first name would be innapropriate as he is in his 70s, and I am in my 20s. However, Mr. is rather inconvenient because it puts a distance between us.

And please don't spew some abstract idea about "freedom". America isn't any more free than any other democratic nation. What freedoms we ever did have (freedom of speech, freedom to move freely) have been eroded to the point of nonexistance. Even our history with bogus ideologies such as "manifest destiny" is shameful.

Suggesting I move elsewhere is not an answer to the question.
