sincere.. like.. when i go to my mom's work all her coworkers arelike.. she's sooo pretty... im pretty sure they are jus saying it to please my mom.. have any of you guys done that.. are you lying(or feel like you have to say it coz its polite) or being sincere

i'm sure they are saying it because you are pretty. i've been at work and a fellow co worker's child will visit and people will be tripping over themselves to tell the parent how pretty or handsome the child is. i've also seen where the co worker will bring their child and people will say something like, "oh! this is so and so? how nice." they don't refer to the child's looks. i wouldn't tell anybody their child is pretty are handsome if they weren't. so take the compliments and run with it. your mom is probably very proud.

Depends. Its either or. They maybe honest. Im not going to tell someone they are pretty just to be nice when reality they arent pretty. I wont. Best to say "Your looking cheerful today." If its a daily thing from the same coworkers then they are probably trying to be nice or truely sincere.

I don't think so. Sure there might be a couple that say it but don't mean it, but for the most part they probably are genuine.
Because even if they were just trying to please your mom they could compliment other things beyond your appearance.

I'd say if they say you are pretty without having to be prompted they are sincere. Like if your mom said, "Isn't my daughter pretty?" and they all said yes, they are probably just telling her what she wants to hear. But if they just say it regardless of what mom says, they mean it.

I personally, would never lie...I may try to find something I like and compliment that. Like "Girl I like those shoes".
