If you read an autobiography, you discover all sorts of fascinating and almost incredible stories that affected someone's life, even at an early age. Of the flashbacks that I recall from an early age, none of them are interesting. Even now, I can't think of stories that would interest people. Do a lot of other teenagers feel this way?

Just curious. Would you rather be with a guy who is sensitive to your needs, trys to talk out problems, does little things like opening car doors and giving you his jacket when your cold but he's a bit sensitive.

Or would you rather be with a guy who's into sports or cars or his band and has little interest in you except for when he wants you around for something specific? The rest of the time you don't really seem to exist.

I'm trying to settle a bet with my friend here....

Many months ago my friend started communicating with a girl on localhookupz. He ended up getting her in touch with me, and he continued talking to her. I've spoken to her on the phone several times. Anyway, she lives about 45 min. to an hr away from me, and she wants to meet up with me while she's with her friends near her house on Tuesday. I wanted her to come to me, but every time we make plans one of us or both of us end up screwing them up. From what I can tell she's a kind hearted person, and I'd like to meet people, but I'm not sure if going all the way over there would make sense for me.

All right, this really frusterates me - and I was curious what everyones' thoughts were on it. Why is 'African-American' politically correct? My belief is, unless you were born in Africa and then became a US citizen, you're not African. I mean, I have family in Germany, and I don't go around demanding to be called 'German-American.' Why don't we just all stop referring to each other as 'black' or 'white' or 'democrat' or 'republican' and go on to use what we all are - AMERICAN? Technically, someone like Charlize Theron is an African-American versus someone like Jamie Foxx or Sean Combs.

I don't deny there is racism in this country, and I've grown up in a partially racist household. I, personally, am not racist. At the same time, I can see where the race card is being overused. I mean, some black people would have a fit being referred to as 'colored' and yet they gladly take money from the NAACP. Maybe I'm just blowing off steam...but does anyone else see this too??

Have you notice how much people give importance to age?
Isn't that just a number (if you consider people mature differently)? So why is that obsession with - at what age you did this, went there at what age or became this at what age? Sometimes I think people even use the age factor as a competition and deadlines...
Wouldn't it be a better world if what really matter would be - you did this, went there and became this just for the fun of it?

Don't Americans go on about the US being a land of liberty? It really is strange!

I have read a few answers from Americans that call people a liberal or imply someone is when the question is anti-war. Why is this? Is it still seen as a good thing in America to want conformity, lack of freedom and to be controlled? I thought the days of Milgram's subjects being the typical US person were over.

What do u do when you work with somebody that drives u crazy and irritates you? I read that "It's not them who irritates you, its you that lets him/her irritate you?" but still can't cope (and other co-workers can't either) with that I'm better than you, I'm the boss best friend and I'm so perfect I can't believe myself kind of attitude? Do you have the same problem? What do you do to cope?
