I was shy when I was younger, I still am but I've gotten a little better. What I realised is that no-one wants to see you shy, even you don't want to see yourself shy, so why not be the confident person you want to be? No-one cares, people in fact will be more inclined to talk to you if you are confident. Just ask yourself, what is holding you back, what are you so affraid of? Be the person you want to be, who cares what others think of you, they're not worth the time. Good Luck :)

I am shy too...I was much more shy when I was younger, but somehow I outgrew some of it. Personally, I dont think there is anything wrong with being shy. It's not as if you're a bad person. Why don't you try hanging out with those who are really extroverted so some of the pressure will be taken off you and maybe you will be inspired to brush off a lil of that introverted shyness.

Does the waiter have a track record of giving you what you want if you have asked him before? So whats the point if you are shy or not to ask the waiter? The waiter will give you what he thinks you want. You just have to wait and curse the hotel and the person who has employed the waiter.

i sort of had that same problem and i would stutter whenever ordering something, and if they got the order wrong id be too shy to tell them to get it right. but i think the only way to overcome it is if you keep talking to people.

i'm a bit shy/anti-social, but i'm overcoming a little bit at a time, just put yourself more into situations thats gonna make you talk, when your friends, just keep talkin, if it helps, talk to someone on the phone, progressively you'll eventually be able to get pass shyness, just find ways that will make you talk.

I used to be like that, i still am slightly shy, but it just takes time. I'm 21 now, it took years for me to grow out of it. Don't worry everyone grows out of it sooner or later.

Dont worry. I over came my shyness by a magic phrase:
"What's the worse that can happen. He/She wont kill me."
You try it too. It really helped.
