Everybody has it, that voice inside your mind only you can hear.
When you think of something to say to someone, when you write a question for Yahoo Answers, even when you go grocery shopping.
The sound of your own voice, interpreted by your brain.

Now, is there any evidence for the presence of your voice? Can an MRI scan or any other scientific piece of equipment, detect this as say, neurons flaring or such?

Or is this something that can't be detected by the technology we currently have?

(Please note, this is in the Psychology section, not Religion. Please refrain from any theological answers please.)

We see hear and feel things by our nerve impulses.
So are we living in a world of myth.
From where we have came and where we have to go.
So the decisions we taken in life are actually taken by us or is it pre-determined?
Whom does 'I' refer to when we speak it ?
What is the ultimate truth?

What purpose is there to vocalising our thoughts, decisions or internal mental processes?

Do some of us value hearing words above other things, even when we hearing outselves?

What birthed this perculiar mental quirk?

the same. As soon as he finds out something bothers someone, he is going to do it to them. He is violent. I seen him grab this triangle shapped toy and hit another little boy in the face with the point 3 times (like a stabbing motion) while I was yelling for him to stop and running to him. His mother told me he chased his older brother (age 6) twice now with a knife. He goes to THREE different schools during the day because not one school will agree to keep him all day. He was suspended from one school the other day because of swinging a toy around and he accidently hit another kid in the head with it, which required stitches, but the reason the school said they had to suspend him is because he showed no remorse for hurting the boy. One of the schools has a psychologist coming in and watching him and now the pediatrician is sending him to a child therapist twice a week. He NEVER relaxes. It is like he is constantly looking for something to break or someone to torment. I went

How will exam performance be impacted if:
(1) Jokes are exchanged between us (friends in the hall)?
(2) We study seriously in the exam hall before the exam?

Do we do exams better if we:
(a) relax and talk about other things in the exam hall?
(b) really get down to revising the chapters in the exam hall?
(c) just sit and wait for the paper?

I feel that being light - hearted and easygoing before the exam helps me a lot. I tried studying in the exam hall and it was a disaster. Though I wasn't disturbed, I forgot what I had studied at home! Is that abnormal?

Hello!! So, I am writing a paper for a class (Anth 332, Shamanism and Healing) on people's experiences of losing a loved one, sensing the presence of those who have passed on, etc. etc. Please, answering even just ONE of these questions would help, as long as you don't mind possibly being quoted in a paper. Thank you soooooooo much!!!!!

1.Have you ever been close to someone who has died? If so, who? How close were you?
2.Have you ever felt a strong sense of the presence of someone who has died?
3.Have you ever had vivid memories of someone who has died?
4.Vivid dreams?
5.Do certain sights, sounds, smells, etc. bring back strong memories of a person?
6.Do certain places (specific or unspecific) give you a strong sense of the dead?
7.Have you ever felt the presence of a person/people that you did NOT personally know? (i.e. being in a place and sensing spirits of people who died long ago, sensing past unrest, etc. etc.)

I have multiple personalities, one of which is a five year old. She doesn't understand why she can't sit on Santa's lap this year. Should my fiancee and I let her, or is there a way we can explain the situation to her? ONLY serious answers please, and please no degrading comments. I am honestly concerned about her feelings.

I have problem neighbors and without getting into it (YA has a lot of former questions about neighbors), I'm curious. They seem to try to deliberately antagonize me. Even when all else seems fine and quiet. Can someone who's taken Psych 101 please tell me why people do this? Isn't this a case of needing to "get a life"??

Thanks.

I have so much stuff that I hang on to. I'm such a packrat, and don't want to be. How can I seperate myself from the emotional attachement to an object. For example I have some porcelin dolls that belonged to my grandma. After she passed, they were given to me and I feel guilty for giving them away. There are SO many more things I own that I'm like that with. I've been told to take a picture and keep them in an album, but that is not making the feeling go away. How do you cure a packrat???

I feel empowered by it. I find strength in poetry about suicide.
What does this say about me. Take "Hurt" by NIN. When i watch the film clip. I break down crying but arise like i'm invincible.

there is this person I know that hangs out with a bunch of ppl we'll call him Greg. Greg has very odd behavior at times, he is fairly nice guy but is considered very odd. Sometimes when at someones house you will see him peeking around going into rooms that he has no reason being in and when asked why he is there makes up some dumb excuse however he seems innocent enough, like you don't want to get mad at him cause he jsut seems a little off you know, but he mostly is nosey and really quiet about it. Also has been known to sleep at his friends bedroom door however, claimed he was drunk and passed out cause it was a party that night but he hadn't drank much only like 2 beers, he just does some really odd things and when confronted on them seems really confused it's really weird. There is definitely something wrong with him I am just wondering wht it could be. He also loves doing things alone like going to concerts and well basically places that most ppl would want to go with others
