Nature means anything that is real, created for a reason , it is in the system and runs with the flow of time...
Nurture means to raise, to bring up, to train, to develop, something that has been created and now someone has to help it grow and take care of it or them

A very good example is children is a gift from God..they are given to parents az a natural course of life when a couple marries and build a family..this is normal in nature.

Parents then try to nurture and nourish these children by bringing them up, nurturing them to be better individuals in the society and naturally train them to be independent and freedom loving citizens of their country.

These two are factors that influence a person's trait and behavior..A person acquires his character or personality through both nature and nurture.. Nature is more about the biological make up of an individual. Heredity comes into play here. The effects of genes that acts as determinants in a person's behavior.
As for nurture, it is more about the upbringing and the environment of the individual which plays a role in forming a person's character.. Most scientists now are adopting the interactionist point of view, that is, they see personality as being formed by the interplay of both our genes and the environment around us.

The best example I can give you is this....A lady I know in a nearby town has downs syndrome. She is mentally retarded and her husband is also mentally delayed. They married and had 2 children, a son and a daughter.
Their children both graduated high school and one of them actually made the honor roll. These kids were actually over protected by the school system and nurtured to become "normal" mentality. They were carefully monitored and the school knew there situation at home and the kids were nurtured. They were given special attention because everyone knew the parents were special needs.
The kids were nurtured into being what they are today. I imagine its normal for them to have retarded parents, and it is all they know, but can you imagine going to an honors banquet with 2 retarded parents, one of the parents is pretty obviously delayed. She looks retarded thru her eyes, and is socially ok, but stands out.

Hello,
Nature and Nurture are twin concepts that seek to express the ultimate source of our behavioural patterns. Simply stated, while nature holds that our habits and behaviours are things we were born with, e.g consider the ability of a bird to fly, on the other hand nurture holds that our habits and behaviours are basically acquired, in essence they are learnt.

Nature is essentially instinct. Like, saying that it's human nature for a mother to take care of her child.

Nurture is your environment and upbringing. Like saying that the mother gave her child away because her mother gave her away when she was young.

its quite simple really

the Nature nurture debate is an argument between two opposing ideas that peoples behavior is most significantly effected by either their nature or by the way they are nurtured.

the nature argument concentrates on studies of genetics and nurture upon ideas of culture and parenting etc.

The theory of nature states that we are who we are because we are born that way; that we are predispositioned to be a certain way due to biological factors. The theory of nurture states that we are the way we are because of our upbringing; how we are raised and our exposure to external factors and society.
