What purpose is there to vocalising our thoughts, decisions or internal mental processes?

Do some of us value hearing words above other things, even when we hearing outselves?

What birthed this perculiar mental quirk?

LOL. don't worry, I don't mumble and jabber to myself in public. I tend to 'muse' in private company or when I'm typing something up at work.

The best way to learn or think is to use as many of the five senses as possible. You say the words.... you feel them come out of your mouth.... you hear them. This also helps us view things as though we are in a conversation and look at things from other perspectives. It really is a useful tool ....just be careful where you do it.

I love that question I do that all the time. Guess we love the sound of our own voices eh. We're probably still impressed that we can communicate through sound so its like the first time I ever whistled i did it none stop for weeks after.

Conscience is an ability or faculty or sense that leads to feelings of remorse when we do things that go against our moral values, or which informs our moral judgment before performing such an action. Such feelings are not intellectually reached, though they may cause us to 'examine our conscience' and review those moral precepts, or perhaps resolve to avoid repeating the behaviour.

Commonly used metaphors refer to the "voice of conscience" or "voice within."

Honestly? I do it because it helps me think things through. And I don't necessarily talk to myself...I have imaginary conversations with the people I can't say this stuff to (no, I really don't want to know how crazy that makes me sound... LOL).
