ever since my mom married her second husband 5 years ago, i've never truely been the same. sure i went through changes becoming a teenager & dealing with situations but this is like a whole different story.i became very depressed like & started to not be the happy person who was always there. my mother would ignore me a lot, & i strived to get her attention but it had not worked. there were a lot of different situations too but it would be to long to list.almost 3 years ago however my mother divorced him.I have become a better person & no longer am i all the time depressed with low self esteem. but time to time this keeps coming back, simple things in my life that sadden me get worse because at times they're related with situations that happened before.my mother knows how i feel & has offered me therapy help.i have several illness problems now, like my habits of starving myself at times.therapy help is not wat i need at this point.any idea on what i can do to stop the bad memories?

Do you believe in personality type? Holland, myers-briggs?

How accurate do you think it is?

Do you think it is a good indicator of career happiness?

What do you think is happening if someone takes it one year and tests one way and then takes it a year later and it is almost completely different?

What is your type? Can a person be a enfp, and enfj or entp and entj or intj and intp?

Left brained and right brained: Are most people one or the other? Among people who can use either side very fluidly (as shown by current tests), would they be mostly people who would be "gifted."?

If a "gifted" person uses their left and right brain almost equaly--one hour this side one hour the other side --the auditory and then the visual, would their personality type be affected.

I'm talking about the idea that some people feel like they have two separate brains in their heads, because they can always see, think, and feel both sides of everything--EVERYTHING.

i mean, what does having emotion mean, anyway? our brains are what really decide what emotion to have. why do we make something mysterious out of emotions? i believe we are just products of our brains. we act on our beliefs, because think about it, usually we dont do things for no reason. the point of having a functioning brain is to make decisions and to either carry or not carry them out based on our beliefs. this idea has been going on in my head for years and has finally clicked this past month or two. another question, if we really are just products of our brains, then why do we hold humans up to such standards regarding emotion? what makes us people and not humans? are we truly good or bad people? do you understand what i am saying?

Okay, I'm a Junior this year...
and before this year...I was a perfectionist.
I wouldn't fail ANYTHING.
It was amazing. For two years I was doing great.
Now...I care about my grades but it's not the same.
I decided to take AP classes...but they're so much that I don't think I can handle it.
I don't do my homework anymore.
I didn't do this project I was supposed to.
I feel HORRIBLE, but all I want to do is sleep.
I'm exhausted and I've been having all these health problems.
I don't know why this is happening to me.
I feel like crap.
I have ZERO motivation to do the tons of work I have to do.
Help?

Last night I asked a question about bad drivers, mainly because I get so frustrated with those that are incredibly inconsiderate of their fellow drivers. I mentioned a few of my pet peeves which I feel are just "common courtesy", or ""common sense" driving techniques. Maybe I was just venting, but I noticed that the majority of "answerers" accused me of being the bad driver! I don't get it? I guess it was a futile attempt to enlighten those that may not be aware of their traffic tie-up ways. Oh well, I also guess that inconsiderate, narcissistic, ignorant, oblivious bad drivers are here to stay.

I know--- not much of a question, but I again needed to vent.

To my fellow "considerate", "think of others", "try not to be spiteful", "let's keep the lanes moving", "step on it when the light turns green", etc... etc... etc... drivers, thanks for listening!

(This is not to offend anyone, just a question)
Why is it that when I read adults who answer teens' questions about sex, they always say how bad it is that kids are having sex so young and it's a sin and everything, yet they had sex for the first time when they were about 15 or 16 (and they admit it). Instead of saying how terrible it is for kids to have sex, why not just influence us not to have sex?

I have noticed that there are a lot more teenagers out there that are made sad easier and a more easily angered than the normal child or adult would. I know that there are chemical imbalances in the teenage body, but do these imbalances cause a teenager to be more sensitive than the average adult or even child? Adults, I've observed, are more calm and able to handle things smoothly than teenagers can; I have even seen young children being praised for doing thing "so maturely". These children then hit teenhood and they become rebellious and sexual, but why is this?
Is it just chemical imbalances in their body or something more? Does the transition from child to adult mess around with their heads in some way OTHER than just hormones??

I'm sorry for askin' such a technical question; I just find it so weird that since my childhood i have turned from a intellectual pop princess to a semi-nerdy, boy-crazy, wanna-be-rockstar in just a few years' time.

A little while ago, my friend and I game so beads to another friend as a get well present for going through surgery. One day, she met me and my friend and she was wearing this totally awesome outfit that went perfectly with the beads. I commented: "Oh! That would look sooo cool if you doubled the beads so that there were more strands and they were shorter!" She replied: "Yea! Wait... how do I do that?" So I went over to double them for her, and because I was doubling them, the beads had to cross near her neck. She joked "Ahhh...! You're trying to kill me!" And I said: "Oh! Hahahaha yea!" We all joked about it for a while. Now she is claiming that I literally tried to kill her... not joking! WHAT DO I DO??

Please help!!

I have been getting anxiety attacks for a few months now. I'm not sure what specificaly causes them but it started when i told one of my best friends that my mom was suffering with alcoholism. And the nights that I talk to her about it or sometimes even the nights I don't the next day at school I feel really lightheaded and nautious when I know I will see her. I have a few classes with her and before those classes I usually get sick and even when I know I will see her passing in the hallway. I don't want to break my friendship with her because she is one of my best friends but it is beginning to effect my schoolwork and my friendship with her as a friend. I'd talk to another friend but she is the only person who knows and the only person I want to know. I really need some help with this its effecting my life!

Do you agree or disagree? Someone once said that if someone is always late to either school, work, meetings, appts., etc, that is is a weakness in character-give me your thoughts on this. I once used to be a person that was always shaking hands with the clock and currently I tend to be early at least by 15 minutes wherever I go, but have you ever heard of that saying and how do you think it would apply??

I keep having flashbacks and almost all of them are all the things that I really want to forget! If i think about this one subject and go deep into thought about it all of a sudden a flashback I want to forget pops out of nowhere! My mom suggested going to a psychologist or w/e but I really don't want to tell anyone what the flashbacks were because some of them are really private and embarrassing. I really don't know what to do and this hasn't been happening recently. It has been happening for a few years! It tortures me so much sometimes and if I'm having a fun time and there's a flashback my party mood dies. It really sucks! If you could give me suggestions to get rid of this problem or reduce it please tell me! Please and thank you! ^^
