I keep having flashbacks and almost all of them are all the things that I really want to forget! If i think about this one subject and go deep into thought about it all of a sudden a flashback I want to forget pops out of nowhere! My mom suggested going to a psychologist or w/e but I really don't want to tell anyone what the flashbacks were because some of them are really private and embarrassing. I really don't know what to do and this hasn't been happening recently. It has been happening for a few years! It tortures me so much sometimes and if I'm having a fun time and there's a flashback my party mood dies. It really sucks! If you could give me suggestions to get rid of this problem or reduce it please tell me! Please and thank you! ^^

Actually I'm not sure if I should call it a flashback lol ><... I just go back to a memory I really want to forget and its only for like a few seconds and then its gone but I really hate the feeling and it takes me another few minutes or even a whole day to forget about it!

It sounds to me you have a mind that never shuts up. I used to call mines hauntings because that is exactly how it happens. Day after day just out of the blue a painful or embarrassing memory pops into my head and it's like I'm living the incident all over again. I don't really know why but lately I haven't been having those hauntings but then again I deal with so much stress at work I don't have time to think about my past anymore.
Clearly you have a lot of unresolved issues from your past that you refuse to let go which is why you keep flashing back to them. You have to let it go. Believe me I know how hard that's going to be and it may take years but you have to let it go if you want to have peace of mind. Talking does help but you need to find someone you can trust to share this with. Someone who won't judge you or even give advice but just listens.

I have those ALL the time and I am told by some of my friends to go see a psychologist but I'm always afraid to open up and afraid that people will find out. Maybe you should take your mom's advice or confront the problem but you can not forget about something that is left unresolved.
