Not the women.. especially if they're good looking. You know, putting on high heels & having a few drinks & laughing, etc... makes any female accountant a lot of fun... They can let loose, believe me. That's after work. Then again, work is work. About being calculating or analytical? So what? You can be unemployed or a home-maker, and be so right?
My friend 'Ernie the Attorney' is also a CPA... and he's a riot, and was a lot of fun even before he got married. Are you dating a boring guy -- and because he's studying Business or Accounting, you're worried? What's your angle, here? I've met guys/girls that are dull as sin -- and have very exciting jobs at MTV, media, sports teams, etc. etc.

Hi....I was in the Finance and Accounts team at Sapeint and I used to work for 15-16 hours at a stretch daily.No time to eat,no time to sleep.My boy-friend was fed up,lol....and my friends branded me a work-o-holic.It was pretty boring but then I had no choice,my whole social life was going for a toss and trust me,it's the same story everywhere.
People actually started thinking and I am depressed and I am hiding my depression in working overtime,which was not the case.

...i do accounting and book keep for a living and I'll tell you right now i'm not boring, i'm very analytical...basically when people say I FEEL like this is a bad idea I will say I THINK this is a bad idea. For the most part accountants are just like everyone else...only we tend to analyze more.
Some can be boring though and i think the concentration of boring is a little higher in the accounting profession.

I work in finance/accounting. And from the people I have met in my field I would have to say... YES.
I, however, am not the typical stuffy accountant.

Ive met accountants,bankers,stockbrokers throughout most of my career .they r not boring at all .they just as well could have been doctors ,lawyers and teachers.whats important is they like their job cause if they dont like their career then life can be boring or worse .

I have done income tax work and accounting for 36 years. I like to hike, climb, target shoot and drive at speeds that attract patrol cars like flies to fresh horse droppings.
