I would say that wisdom is the ability to apply one's accumulated knowledge and experiences to effectively address problems in the here and now. It is recognizing the similarities and patterns in life and understanding how to use this recognition to avoid repetition of error. It is knowing what is important in life and what is merely distraction, so that energies can be put towards the things that really matter. It is something one can aspire to, but which cannot be taught or purchased. It is sadly undervalued in contemporary society.

To many people "Wisdom" can be something different....
To a couple that just celebrated their golden anniversary it is how to love unconditional
To a brand new mother holding her newborn for the very first time, it is a love that till now, she has never known before.
To a man that walks into an empty home, it is knowing not to hit his wife anymore.
To a friend walking by a casket and looking down at his best friend lying there, it is not to drink and drive
To each and every one of us wisdom is something different!

We have all heard that old homily about "Wisdom is knowledge applied" but I have never believed that. Knowledge applied is "action".

Rather, I have always felt that wisdom is knowledge UNDERSTOOD - in all it's variations, implications and complications.
