I have a friend who constantly focuses on the negative points on other people instead of their own. For example. They are always telling a friend of mine about how she procrastinates alot, when they are a procrastinator themselves. How to you handle a person like this?

Thank you everyone who gave all the wonderful information to help me help my kid sister who married a so-called "ex-gay" who cheated on her with a man. He has gone back into the ex-gay programme to deal with it. But now I that I have seen the facts, I am more scared for my sis and VERY angry!

These programmes cost money if you are doing it "live-in" like he does. Money they do not have. Right now, my baby sister is on the verge of a nervous breakdown! She has two little ones to raise! This is just not right! All other forms of therapy or rehab must get approved by a recognised board and there is documented evidence these programmes have a HIGH failure rate! In fact it is not endorsed by ANY recognised American board of medical health professionals.

I don't understand why is this being allowed to continue! It makes false promises! It hurts not only gay people but the straight women and men who marry them plus the kids
Who else has this happened to?
What can do do to stop it?

It seems that all I can focus on is "What could have been" or "What will I do?" Plenty of good things have happened in my life but I can only focus on the bad things. When this is happening (95% of the time), I feel like I am not myself. Like a turtle that escapes into its shell. Or more like I just "Go away" and it seems like I'm watching myself outside of myself. I am steadily losing grip on who I really am, and it feels like who I really am is only around maybe one day out of a month. I woke up today feeling whole for the first time in a long time and I just started crying. I was so sad because I knew that I would not be "me" for long, Yet It was also the happiest feeling "To acually be here". When I am not me, I seem to be able to feel what other people are feeling and think what other people are thinking. Its like uncontrollable empathy. With all that information coming into me, I just sit back and watch from inside myself. Am I crazy or has anyone else ever had a similar feeling?

It is good to be yourself, be happy with what God made you that way you exalt GOD. That way God will exalt you too (or further exalt you)

I am not disputing the assertion of the skin disease
I love Jackson, His talent and I am strongly against all those false allegations against him.

Jackson should stand strong, those who love him are more than those who hate him so he wins. If he made a mistake, its past, he shouldn't allow it to bring him down. The rest lies between him and his creator (skin disease or not)

ITS THE BEST TIME TO TAKE OFF THAT MASK (if there be any). People disrespects you once they feel you are trying to fake your personality to someone elese's and they put you under that person you are trying to imitate and dislike you for it.
DOING THIS WILL CHANGE A LOT.

I think they will ask some of the same questions we ask, and probably regard the United States as "ONE" race of people, and not White,Black,Asian,Latin and so forth. I also ask do people not realize that we are neighbors, and regarded as one people, no matter how physically different we may be?What do you think?

I recently met a guy online who lives in a different country but close enough to visit. He seems like the answers to my dreams. He's honed in on all my vulnerabilities and says all the right things. He dropped the 'L' word within days of communicating with me and talks a lot about a long term/distance relationship, sex, having children together, relocating to where I am. What we have is very intense . I have no way to verify if what he tells me is the truth - eg about his family, friends, or work. He's never asked me for any like money but I found myself offering to pay for half of his ticket (he's coming to visit next month). I have deep seeded personal issues, which I've shared with him and he has accepted. Although I am well liked, attractive, and social well adjusted, I've suffered from serious low self esteem and insecurity my whole life. He hasn't displayed typical sociopathic traits, but I can't help but thinking that I'm being set up.

a few days ago i was trying to describe to someone how a situation can be everything or nothing. like almost to the point where something consumes your life so much, that it ultimately is worthless to you. i tried to describe it using metaphors.

they just told me that was a stupid way to think. and that i need to grow up and stop acting like a child.

I'm in continuing contact (personal e-mail) with many, many Q&A users, generated by their questions of assorted confusion, depression, circumstantial anxieties. Most have become "friends." I don't believe in giving "blatant" advice, but rather ask questions that they can then ask of THEMSELVES. (As I would with any client.) The positive responses have been rewarding; I don't get "paid," I simply care. Yet, I've recently gotten some rather hostile e-mails intimating I "read too much between the lines" (!) & they're NOT going to e-mail me again! I interpret this as someone who truly doesn't want to look within, & that's fine. I've also noticed quite a few thumbs down on my answers. So this is my question: How do you think people "may" respond when I use "Psychologist" as my source? Bad experiences with psychologists? That I'm "puffing?" I'd really appreciate your input. The more, the better. Thank you so much.

I'm constantly losing things and forgetting things. I have trouble following through with anything, and my absentmindedness is really starting to affect me. I'm 28, so I'm not going senile, but after losing my keys, misplacing tickets, leaving my cell phone everywhere, and about a million other things, I'm going nuts.

How can I get organized and bring some order to my life? This is affecting every facet of my existence and it's driving me nuts.

Are sociopaths automatically 'evil' or deviant? Sure, selfish and uncaring of other people's feelings but that doesn't mean they're all going to end up in jail, right?

I really need help. I've always been a good boy at school, always managed to avoid significant trouble. But lately, this seems to have got to my head and I've been going through a really bad lazy patch. I have a french oral tomorrow I should revise for and GCSE coursework in for Thursday. And I still have about 6 months worth of work to do on it. Now, I simply can't motivate myself to do any work whatsoever, even though I realise that it really needs doing.

Some sensible answers would be greatly appreciated. Bear in mind that I really feel like I don't care whether I get in trouble or not, and my attitude is such that I seem to think it'll sort itself out.

Help please?

When someone feels a loss...
or is traumatized by the sight of the person who has passed on?
Is this one of the stages of grieving? If so, which one?
How long does that time frame usually take to go away (from one extreme to the other) if a person in mourning was really close to the one who passed away?
Is there medicine to take to get rid of the memory of seeing the body when it was finally discovered that won't interfere with daily functioning?
Does this traumatic memory go away on its own? If so, when?
Also if I bounce around with the stages of grieving, what is that all about? Could that be coming from multiple losses?

I recently had a romantic dream about a kid that lives in my neighborhood. I’m 24 and he’s prob 17 maybe 18. I know dreams mean nothing but I feel like a weirdo for having a dream about the kid who skates by my house and says hello everyday. I woke up and the song “Ms. Robinson” was in my head.

I interpret this dream as meaning I need to find more fun and excitement in my current relationship. After 6 years things can get a little slow. Am I a sicko or is it normal to have odd dreams like this?
