It seems that all I can focus on is "What could have been" or "What will I do?" Plenty of good things have happened in my life but I can only focus on the bad things. When this is happening (95% of the time), I feel like I am not myself. Like a turtle that escapes into its shell. Or more like I just "Go away" and it seems like I'm watching myself outside of myself. I am steadily losing grip on who I really am, and it feels like who I really am is only around maybe one day out of a month. I woke up today feeling whole for the first time in a long time and I just started crying. I was so sad because I knew that I would not be "me" for long, Yet It was also the happiest feeling "To acually be here". When I am not me, I seem to be able to feel what other people are feeling and think what other people are thinking. Its like uncontrollable empathy. With all that information coming into me, I just sit back and watch from inside myself. Am I crazy or has anyone else ever had a similar feeling?

First of all, your not crazy, get that out of your head. You have what is called "Raw Empathy". Definition: you can't differentiate your own emotions, from someone else's "Raw", empathy. Raw empathy is an unskilled level of empathic talent, where externally-generated emotions override or mask the empathic person's naturally generated emotions. If you compare exceptionally strong raw empathy with a damaged undefined or undefended boundary system they are very similar. I believe this state to be a problematic for em paths, one which attention and training to correct. The damaged boundaries make it impossible for the empathic person to determine the difference between their own emotions and those round them. "Kinhost.org", Getting a feeling for Empathy, by The crisses If you want to find out about damaged boundaries go to the source listed . If you continue to feel out of control, seek counseling from a Psychologist. I believe you need to be more in tune as to why you do this so counseling might really help. The best to you.

You sound really anxious - a period I think most of us go through. I had this thing not so long ago - it was a delayed reaction to a death in the family. Have you suffered some kind of trauma in the the last few years? It could go back even longer then that - or could maybe a reaction to some sort of more recent stress. Is it manifesting itself in any physical ways - neck or shoulder pain perhaps? The first thing you need to do is see your doctor. Just speaking to a medical professional can help and there could be an underlying physical cause that is helping you feel this way. The main thing to realise is this can be solved - you just have to ask for help from the right people. Now is a very stressful time to live in and we react in all kinds of different ways. Good luck, you WILL feel better soon.

No I dont think you are crazy, I do the same thing, but its different for me because alot of bad things have happened to me in my life, hardly anything good. When something bad happens I just think thats all we can focus on and its getting our complete attention and thats where the stress and other bad feelings come from. I know how you feel and I hate it.

Crazy is not always a bad thing. You probably have a chemical imbalance. There are several physical problems that can lead to these imbalances. See a doctor as soon as possible. You need to have some test done to find out what may be causing this problem. You should take this seriously.

Thinking back on things with regret, what you could have done differently will get ya every time.
Live in the present, and try to be yourself more by getting in control of your empath skills.
