This was a question asked in a debt article addressing the habits of Americans to purchase things like TV's, sofa's, boats, or even clothes on credit.

So, what is it that we want most in life?

What are we sacrificing?

Why do we do it?

Do we have an over-whelming problem with delaying gratification?

How or what skills do we teach our children that will help them not fall into the debt trap?

I bought this book called the "photoreading mind system book" It is about how you can read, at amazing speeds , my question is does anyone here has first hand experience on this subject and what do you think of it... is it possible? well I think it is.... when I talk amazing speeds I mean like reading at a speed of 5 seconds a page.... its amazing well... I am barely beginning to read it so I wouldnt know if its true.... but it be cool if it is well... I'll keep ya'll posted. Your comments and answers would be appreciated:)

Okay where do I start. This woman has been stalking me for about a year now. At first, I did not mind it, now I a efin afraid of her. She has been following me around even more. Now she knows where I live, where I hang out, what kind of car I have, everything.She even somehow knows my cell phone number!She now had the teacher in one of my classes move her next to me. She is telling all of her friends we are boyfriend and girlfriend. I said it was not true and now she's saying I had sex with her. Since I am trying to disprove that, she has started cutting herself. She is threatning to commit suicide and make it look I was responsible. Now she finds out about my real girlfriend. Now she threatens if I am not her boyfriend she will call police on my family and girlfriend framing them for something they did not do. Now she has gone far enough saying she wants to kill my family and friends. She has reached the point of "Fatal Attraction" crazy to make a long story short. What should I do?

A recent survey stated that the average person's greatest fear is having to give a speech in public. Somehow this ranked even higher than death which was third on the list. I repetitively dream someone is trying to or has broke into my house (not always my current house), then I fly down stairs and all kinds of things to get away. I wake up gasping sometimes!

What's the most peculiar thing you've ever known someone to obsessively hoard?

My father records ball games on vcr tapes to watch later, which he does, but will not reuse them! He's got a huge closet full of video tapes with baseball and football games on them. I bought him a tape eraser and explained how it works, but he doesn't see the need! Very peculiar! Other than that, he's a perfectly lucid man! What's your stories?

these people take advantage of peoples fears, ignorance, and greed,as well as stuipity! they laugh all the way to bank after telling a person what he future holds for them! they know that there are a lot of naive, foolish people in america who hold onto old wives tales, and occulltic beliefs taht the bible condems! freedom of expression? correct! but what fools to listen to astologers or so--called psychics!

I have been searching for a course for several months on the net without sucess. I need a 7-10 day introductory course, suitable for doctors. The only thing I have been offered so far is a day release course, unfortunately it is not possible to do it this way because of work commitments. I wish to take the course all in one go and will take holidays to cover it. Anyone know of anything that might be suitable?

In my last question I asked, "Something really horrible happened to me today...how do I get the images from the incident out of my head? :'(" and one of the answers was to talk about it...so here's what happened...maybe letting it out in this question to hear other people views on how to handle it will help me...

I go to the bookstore every wednesday morning. There is this one black homeless guy that walks around. While waiting for the booksamillion to open one wed. morning he started talking to me. I felt kind of bad. I didn't mind talking to him really because I think it made him feel better. Anyways, I saw him again this morning near the bookstore and his came up and hugged me and lightly kissed me on the head! I have OCD (he smelled really bad too) and went into the bathroom and just about threw up! That little incident made me feel so sick!!! Now it keeps playing my mind! Ahh! Get away from me you FREAK!!!!! What do I do??????????????????????????????????????????????? :'(

I dont understand how people just talk so openly about this stuff right when it happens with customers for example and it makes me feel VERY uncomfortable for them to tell me such things.

What do you think about it?

What is the difference in pychology of people who talk openly to strangers in public about this kind of stuff and people like me that would never talk openly about this stuff , especially to strangers!
