Last week I had a really weird dream. I had a dream that a little 9-year-old girl that goes to my church married a 24-year-old man (and she was 9 when she married him). It was NOT a traditional wedding. She married in the church's nursery and her and her "fiance" were sitting down, leaning up against the wall while this girl's mother married and her this 24-year-old man.

In the same dream, I dreamt that an 8-year-old girl that also goes to my church married a 15-year-old teen (not an attendee of the church), and though the wedding was on the same day as the 9-year-old's and in the same place, I was not at the wedding. It was very short. There was a delima because the 15-year-old boy who married the 8-year-old was unable to drive...

WHAT THE HECK DOES THIS DREAM MEAN?!!?

Statistics Question?? One tailed or Two tailed test?
Scores on standardized intelligence tests are normally distributed with m = 100 and s = 15. You think that experience is especially important in determining intelligence and that an enriched environment can increase a child’s IQ test scores. You randomly select a sample of 30 children to participate in an enrichment program. After their experience in the enrichment program, the IQ scores for the sample is M = 110.

a. Is there evidence that your enrichment program increased IQ test scores?

b. In answering part a., did you use a one-tailed test or a two-tailed test? Justify your choice of a one-tailed or two-tailed test. How did this choice influence your conclusion?

c. Comment on the effect size obtained with your enrichment program.

- I used a Two tailed test to calculate (a) and Cohen's d for part (c) Now I am wondering if I should have used a One tail test???

It's a big question. But think about it.

From the first few months of your birth, you realised you had the power to affect your surroundings. By crying, someone would rush to you and give you attention. If you threw that ball in your hand, it would move away from you. We enjoy having the ability to cause things and then watch the effects.

Why do bullies put themselves at the top of the pyramid?
Why do we like outsmarting each other?
Why do males compete to see who is the manliest?

Why why why?
