It's a big question. But think about it.
From the first few months of your birth, you realised you had the power to affect your surroundings. By crying, someone would rush to you and give you attention. If you threw that ball in your hand, it would move away from you. We enjoy having the ability to cause things and then watch the effects.
Why do bullies put themselves at the top of the pyramid?
Why do we like outsmarting each other?
Why do males compete to see who is the manliest?
Why why why?
