Psychology - June 2006

So my mother gives me a red and a blue sweater for Chrismaka. So I go upstair and try on the red sweater. As I'm coming downstairs to show her what a good boy I am for trying on her gift she says in a stereotypically Jewish high whining voice, "Whaz's wong with the blue one!" What did I do wrong? How could this have been avoid?

Would you try and avoid it? Do you think it would be possible to?

Lets say...you found out that a bus will hit you in a crosswalk, at 4:30 pm tommorrow...would you be able to avoid it by not going outside?

Or is it better off...not knowing?

I firmly believe that common sense is NOT something you can be taught. I have friends who are book smart from the word go, but when it comes to everyday life situations, it's like they are 3 year olds. How can you make someone be more aware in everyday life situations? I can pretty much point something out from a mile away, so my common sense skills are top notch, so it drives me insane when someone lacks this ability.

I have a little brother, he is now 13 years old. When he was 3 years old (starting to write) my other brother (who is a left-handed) forced him to be left-handed.
Today, I observed that when he writes or copy something from the board, either he misspells it or the sentence is incomplete.

I myself didn't know Anna Svidersky and after reading the Myspace bulletin about her death it felt like I received a speer to the heart. I cried for twenty minutes in my room.
