The social construct of nuclear family is a comparatively recent phenomena in cultural terms, and throughout the ages humans have had many different social constructs.

The idea that a man and woman bind together in a single insular economic unit excluding all other possibilities has certainly become a societal norm in much of Europe and the US, but this was not always so.

I come to wonder if the constructs of Monogamous marriage have become a mechanism by which people have become more isolated from one another, confining their intimacies, and defining their interests in a very narrow family unit in a hostile and competitive marketplace. "You and me against the world",

Are the typical gender roles we have come to adopt imposed on us to make us more compliant to the demands of Big Business?

In short, is the repression of sexuality a tool that is being used to force us into economic slavery?

The role of women has evolved drastically since their hesitant advent into the corporate world through "soft" jobs, more in keeping with their roles at home -Do you think that the male ego might still feel a little insecure with the idea of accepting a female colleague at the same or superior level ?

Engineering schools like MIT, CalTech and even public colleges have a pretty consistent guy:gal ratio of 2:1, while colleges of arts and humanities are inundated by women. Why do women avoid taking cerebrally challenging subjects? Do they find them too difficult?

Out of sheer curiosity...
does anyone else happen to have this problem? --

At night, I'm raped by a couple thousand demonic spirits at one time. I am abducted and carried off to Hell on a nightly basis where I engage in many carnal activities and enjoy the pleasures of demonic playthings, sometimes against my will. I have oft' consulted hand-crafted ouija boards that have confirmed my sick, twisted fears -- I am, in fact, a demon. And will continue to be one for the next 51 years, according to Nysfarth and Borisovna. I am one of 66 people in the world to have this problem and share in this magical, hellish nocturnal delight...are any of you the other sixty-five people whom I seek?
And what advice do you have for me?

It seems to me that a lot of people you meet are very unhappy and are full of anger. Just look at all of the "creature comforts" We have now compaired to just 100 years ago. (Dvd players, computers, video games with state of the art graphics, mp4 players, ipods, Nice cars etc etc) We have clean working conditions. My grandad used to do 14 hour shifts down a coal mine and it was bloody hard work. So my question is. Why are a lot of people so miserable these days. We dont know we are born compaired to someone who lived just 100 years ago.

Why do most people of today judge quickly, they just judge on the first impression they saw and not digging into the real reason. Some of today are judging immaturely and not critically. Why is that?
