I tend to try and stay away from those who are "grumpy complainers" on a regular basis. I wouldnt say that I "detest" them though since I stop to think how unhappy they must be to have nothing better to do than complain. When I am around someone such as this though, I DO sometimes say a little something like..."yep, we all have a story" or "different people, different issues, but we ALL have problems"

I get people who piss me off at my job all the time. But once they try to pull some b.s. about how they are apparently special and don't need documentation, I pull out the regs and let them know that their rank and b.s. attitude don't mean anything to me.
Some people are pricks, that just the way things are. The pricks who want to act like 2 year old babies who try to whine and complain (and sometimes intimidate) until they get their ways are the ones that I love detesting.

I worked with a some grumpy people. It was awful. They made you want to avoid them which I did. Now that I look back, it would have been better if I talked to them and tried to work with them more.

i don't like to be around them. i have a cousin who is like that not only is she a complainer, but she is not a good listener, she is paranoid that everyone thinks she is fat and she is conniving.
i avoid her.
just before i start to be grumpy i try not to let it show because i don't want anyone to view me the way i view my cousin.

I think they need to shut the **** up and get over it. Everyone goes through **** but we can all survive, people just don't have to be so damn sad, depressed or complain about doing it.

Nah - I don't detest them, that would make ME grumpy!
It's their problem, not mine - so let 'em have their "fun"!

Well even though most of the time that is me to anyone I don't particularly want to talk to- I still don't like being on the receiving end.

yes and no. while these people can be bothersome, however, i can't deny the fact that i do it myself.
many people will say, yes, i do not like them. because their ego tells them when they do it, it is justified. but when someone else does it, it is irrational. i know, i work with someone who has such logic. complaining is complaining. and whether you do it outloud or inside yourself, one is just as guilty.
