Then we will wake up again, only to realise that waking from the dream was actually just another dream and that the original dream was actually reality but now we're stuck in the dream about waking up from reality so we'll go back to sleep and live our lives in our dreamland reality.

The kind of hitchhiker's guide philosophy is dominant- maybe we will, maybe we won't, no way of ever really knowing...
But I think we have to get sorted in this life because we've got eternal souls and are going to be answerable to God for our lives on earth. Our only hope is to trust in Christ's perfect life and then we get to join him in the much better reality that will be the new creation!
