I've been in social services for 6 years now and am running into some serious burnout. I set up interviews for people and they don't show up. Or they decide they didn't want to work after all. Or they decide they don't like to have to be at work on time. Plus there is all the inefficiency, red tape, and bureacracy. Everyone that comes in for services has a barcode and is scanned in. The people are just numbers. Should I remain involved in a system like this or just let it go?

Some nights once in a while I'll have a dream that I have to do something important but I can hardly keep my eyes open and I am trying so hard to keep them open and focus on what I have to do. What does it mean?

What's a normal sex life while in your early twenties? I'm in a relationship with a guy, and I have no idea what a normal relationship is or a normal/healthy sex life is. I would really like some input. Sometimes I feel like our relationship is crappy and that it lacks (I can't pinput where, but it just isn't that much of a fulfilling relationship to me) somewhere. We seem to connect more sexually then anything. Don't get me wrong though, my boyfriend is extremely nice, respectful, and caring, it's just that I don't think our relationship is going to last long. We have a lot of sex, which is great and all, but I feel like I want more..? Help Please, I'm confused. What should I want? What's a normal relationship at 22yrsold? A lot of the time I feel like I want to get married, not to my current b/f, but I want to settle down soon. And I'm just fighting the urge because I haven't found someone who I TRULY connect with yet. Thanks for any input.

I think it is. I also think it's a "control" issue, but also a rather shallow narcisstic issue as well.

My fiance had this dream several years back that he was at a neighboorhood pool and a baby or toddler drowned. His sister had the same dream about him. What could this mean? He says he will never take our kids to a pool until they know how to swim.

Women putting each other down, gossiping about each other behind the targets back, or even advertising personal information that was trusted (albiet stupidly) to another woman.

Everytime I have some sort of "bad'' dream, where someone or something is chasing me, I always feel like I'm being pulled back --held on strings or almost paralyzed. At most I can only walk very quickly. Has anyone else ever experienced this? What's the deal?

"retard"?
I know many people throw it around as an insult but mental retardation is a serious medical condition, not a term meant for slander. People with cognitive disabilities are stigmatized enough, wouldn't it be nice if people stopped using the word in this way? Will you make a commitment to stop using it in a negative way? It would mean a lot to many individuals and families.

I have been watching a series of interviews on psychology and neuroscience which are extraordinary and I am wondering how one gets into the field of not private practice psychology, but researching connections between the brain and human behavior, cognition, etc. What kind of degrees are necessary, and would the fact that I myself have general anxiety issues/hypochondria hinder my process in this field?

Ok. Here's a summary of how I got this huge hole. When I was little I watched my adopted brother beat and try to stab my mom way too many times. My adopted sister was a runaway. I was the only of the 3 actually born to my parents. Eventually they kicked my bro out cuz he refused to take his meds. My sis eventually just moved out and lived w/ boyfriends cuz she was sick of being at home (our bro raped her a lot). Then my mom died 5 yrs ago. 2 yrs ago (my sis was 7 months pregnant) my sis was killed in a car accident. My dad is an emotionless robot since my mom died. I have no one. I love my friends, but they can't fill the hole I have. I'm a food addict and already know I will be a sex addict as soon as I lose my virginity. I'm 15. Also I'm overweight and not the prettiest thing in the world so no guys want me to top it all off. How do I fill this hole I have and just...make it all stop?

Are you sick and tired of being called a "lesbian" just because you enjoy doing something that is a traditionally male-dominated activity? I weld, I lift weights, I've worked (in the past) for a construction company, I would rather drive a motorcycle than ride on the back of one....when I was a little girl I didn't play with dolls very much. I liked to climb trees, catch frogs, play sports. I had as many friends (and still do) who are men as I do women. I believe in gender equality. Yet I am feminine in appearance, at times wear dresses, love lingerie....I'm not a lesbian...I'm not asexual. Why do some people feel they must make assumptions about my sexuality (and that of others) solely based upon the non-sexual activities that they enjoy doing? I, for one, am tired of being stereotyped. How about you?

I am admittedly no scholar in mathmatics & economics but know the basics. My stupid question is on clarifying what inflation means when you read in an article that a country's inflation rate is up 7000%? That means that if you made a dollar last January & could buy a 12oz can of Soda for that dollar & a year later in January inflation was up 7000% that means that same 12oz can of soda would cost 7000 times more or about 7000 dollars right or is it the opposite. That orginal dollar 12 months ago is larger by 7000x what it is now?. LOL I know I'm dumb lol.

seriously.i think the entire debate over whether god exists or not is kind of ridiculous and pointless. im a christian but i do believe religion is theory not fact . religion may be divinely inspired -i dont know for sure. but its man made as far as whats printed in a book goes - i believe religion is inspired by god but that doesnt mean that the society in biblical times wasnt corrupt and biased - it was. and i dont believe religion was ever meant to be as organized and hypocritical as it is today.

anyway - my bf is athiest and we talk about what we believe and thats fine. but what i dont tolerate is when self righteous people - ATHIEST AND RELIGIOUS - get in my face about how much 'proof' they have that their side is right. shut the **** up! i dont give a ****. when you die and find out the truth then call me. in the mean time: i dont believe for a ******* second that the big bang happened and we are here by chance. and i sure as hell dont believe being homosexual is a sin...

...i was wearing red, and two of my friends were wearing yellow and blue...anyway....one of them was getting married and we were trying to stop her...it took place in an old church....the guy my friend was marrying was a pirate and i hated him..then my and my other friend tried to crash the wedding and i hurt the pirate so badly we thought he was dead...then we were running around the church and there was a window above us(to the attic)...and then a small person dressed in all black fell from the window and we tried to help them, but they wouldn't let us..then a monster jumped out from above and we were fighting it,but we weren't strong enough so we ran away from it and it started chasing us....the i remember that i got angry and burned the old church down and all the evil things burned...after that my friends and i were running through woods still trying to get away from the monster, when the pirate appeared and pulled me to the ground.i was panicking ,then the monster stabbed the guy.
