It's about not having enough time. Time for what I don't know, it depends on what is going on in his life. Maybe he feels like he is getting older and hasn't accomplished all the things he had hoped to by the time he got to be that age.
Perhaps he has a lot of responsibilities and feels overwhelmed by them and has trouble balancing his time between work/family and other things in his life.

I don't know if it was a warning, but giving kids swim lessons is a great idea. But watch them while they're getting lessons, because kids can drown then, too.
