I recall an episode or Roseanne where Darlene was having a baby. The baby was premature and both her and her husband were spazzing because the baby was struggling. (I forget what happened exactly)

I just recalled the father (John Goodman) saying "Davis, I know your scared for the baby too, and I know it's not PC, but you need to be the man, and be strong for Darlene.

Is this sexist, or would most feminists agree sometimes a man need to be a man in that sense.

This is how it was explained to me by my parents. Men are hard and strong, and women are caring and sensitive. They need to other to balance things. (Just to avaoid being called sexist or whatever.)

dominant = strong, independent, assertive, not controlling and possessive or abusive
submissive = yielding, altruistic, not a masochistic doormat

i think feminists are cool, i think men & women should be equal in the workplace but in relationships......don't you agree that the divorce rate wouldnt be as high if one person was more.....submissive?
also, do you think its a natural thing for women to be submissive (i.e. biological and not cultural)? i do because i love doing things for other people and it makes me feel natural and more feminine.....just wondered if any other women felt like this too?

thanks for answering :)

I've known a couple of very honest people who have made this claim, of having a dream of a very specific location (be it a house interior, a street, etc) that they have never been to before, a place completely new. Then shortly after this dream, they are actually in the specific location that they saw in their dream (down to very specific, minute details.) In other words, they had somehow, in their dreams, seen a vision of the future.

I've heard this account from honest individuals who would have otherwise no reason to lie about something like this; additionally, I've read accounts like this in books as well.

Yeah, it would be easy to dismiss it all as a fanciful coincidence, but I'm just not sure.

Any thoughts?

isn't it time to admit that both sexes contribute to the event and expect more than an "oh wow look at me" attitude?

I am living here in America. If not for something important to tackle here, I wouldn't behere for long . I want to go home to my own country. Not only I feel alienated and discriminated here, but I encountered the rudest people on earth which are the Americans. And I keep wondering their media is so infused with character building like courtesy and respect and still the American populace don't get it. Are they stupid not to understand it? Or just too stubborn? Or just naturally and inherently rude?
If ever they give someone a courtesy or respect, they do it with so much hypocrisy and fakeness. I encountered a lot of miserable experiences here in the US which involved Americans being so nasty, arrogant, proud, rude but hypocritical and fake. At the firs encounter, you would tthink they are nice and then when something upsets or bothers them or you can't give in to their demands, they try so hard to be polite but it comes out fake and in the end, it comes out really rude. Why?

I drive a bright yellow coupe. (Chevy Cobalt). As I sat at the traffic light this evening, I overheard the guy in the SUV next to me making fun of me for driving a yellow car. His girlfriend in the passenger seat laughed at his remarks. This is not the first
time I encountered this type of situation.
I wonder if on some level these guys
feel threatened by me. Maybe that's why they
feel the need to put me down in front of their girlfriends. I'm secure enough to drive a yellow coupe at age 46, yet I am
admittedly bothered by treatment nonetheless.
(I'm also guy for the record). I could easily respond back to them and escalate the
situation. But I think if I could
understand the reasoning behind their behavior it would help me deal with it better.
Thanks for your help.

I was wondering if I was the only person that has ever had this feeling. I sometimes catch myself thinking evil thoughts or at times sexual thoughts of certain people then they will all of a sudden turn and stare at me as if they knew what I was thinking. I am not crazy just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced anything similar. Please attempt to be nice in answering this question. Thanks to all that answer.

Hypocrisy is the act of condemning another person, where the stated basis for the criticism is the breach of a rule which also applies to the critic. Though hypocrisy is frequently invoked as an accusation in debates, a few theorists have studied the utility of hypocrisy, and in some cases have suggested that the conflicts manifested as hypocrisy are a necessary or even beneficial part of human behavior and society.

Can a person's IQ be raised substantially over a decade or so?
I'm 18 and have an IQ of 125, though I'd like to hit the 160 threshold before I'm 30. Is this possible? Will taking up hobbies such as Sudoku and chess help?
I know IQ tests only measure relative intelligence, not absolute intelligence; so true "genius" isn't necessarily just having an IQ over 160. I don't know. Whatever.
