What is an external cost, in economic terms?
And what is an external benefit?

Ok, so I live with my roommates and I have that only-child syndrome. It's like everything is mine and don't touch. How do I get rid of that habit. I'm aware I h ave it I guess that's a start. I do share but sometimes I find myself caring about the littlest things. How do I get rid of that stupid habit???

i've heard a lot of people say that for guys, attraction is more visual, so it is mostly about looks, and for girls it's more emotional so it's more about personality. but that doesn't seem to be true. when it comes to relationships, both guys and girls care about personality, but when it comes to sexual attraction, it seems to be just as much about looks for girls as it is for guys.are girls really not as visual as guys or is that a myth?

I really am curious to the reason.
And, wasn't like just yesterday the "Gender and Women's Studies" just called "Women's Studies"?
Just wondering.

At first didn't pay much attention, but after awhile and none of the details change. It just doesn't seem normal. I also had unexplainable dreams as a child. Think my Mom did too, mentioned it to her and she just started balling. but, would not talk!

I had a dream awhile ago that I woke up in the middle of the night in a beautiful bedroom that wasn't mine. I was in what looked like an old-fashioned nightgown. The room looked like a red colour but it was hard to tell due to the darkness. It was a big room, with elegant paintings and mirrors everywhere. There wasn't much furniture but the four poster bed. I was wondering what I was doing there when the room started stretching. The bed stayed where it was, but the room kept getting longer and longer until it looked more like a very big hallway than a bedroom. There isn't much detail, because that's all I can remember unfortunately...can anyone interprate this for me?

A small example of this would be examples of domestic abuse between ADULTS- sometimes escalating and possibilty culminating in death.
If for example me, a man, were to make friends with another man who at sometime began influencing me towards illegal drug activities with the threat of physically beating me if I didnt cooperate. I decide after a while to leave this guy alone and distance myself. 4 months later I find myself needing some money or friendship so I go back to working with the guy eventhough I still find myself somewhat hesitant. One day the news reports I was found shot to death at my home with his narcotics found dispersed around my the house.
How would society view me in this situation? Would they be sympathetic ? As a grown adult man few would sympathize with my situation and my CHOICES.
Why would this be any different than a woman staying in an abusive relationship or leaving and going back to that same person with a tragic end?

often times, you'd find the woman won't want to disclose the public info you wanted to know on the phone...if you're man, how do you feel about this? for instance, if you'd like to know of the average prices of the computers in the store, she will simplily ask you to come down there to check out for yourself....while the male clerk most likely would answer you this kinda of information.....and, do you feel that women receive more but disclose less? they know more than you but disclose less....kinda of weird, uneasy feelings, though....i want your guys' opinions on this....thanks....(i'm researching on the workings of the mind of women in general.....)

hey guys..you know what? i am one of the rare cases here that are actually depressed because my original smile was way cuter and way prettier than my post-braces smile. i feel like i have lost an old part of my identity that i can never get back, and it is all my fault. whereas before my mouth was full of strong teeth and it had a cute edge to it, now my mouth is so much emptier because i had to pull out 4 teeth for braces and my smile has no more cuteness to it like b4. it basically makes me look like a different person. i cry at times thinking about it and it kills me inside till the point where i dont even know if i can take it anymore. i know i sound weird, but can anybody out there help me cope and please help me get through this? it is hard enough that i know it is all my fault for forcing my parents to get my braces even though they tried to stop me, and on top of that, i can never ever get my old nice smile back. i was a very pretty girl b4 i ever did anything to my teeth.

Is it just me or are people getting more selfish and a lot more inconsiderate?

I currently work in retail and im getting quite worried about the way this world is going. I'm not just on about war and poverty (although that is very important) but the way people act to one another?

Everyday i see stressed, angry or quite deranged people come into my work (on their dayoff) who, quite frankly, don't give a **** who i am. They can be quite nasty at times and not only them but even some of the people i work with or even my niehbors are very petty and inconsiderate.

It seems to be accumalating every year and the difference between the rich and the poor are spreading even further away from each other.

When i was younger, it was completely different. People actually helped one another out. Niehbors would have partys and care for one another just like family. My dad came home from work with a smile on his face 90% of the time and life just seemed more graceful.

Or Is it just me

I believe in free speech completely, but I do have to agree with Elizabeth Edwards in that Ann Coulter needs to STFU. Still, Edwards degrades the whole situation by asking for campaign contributions. What are you thoughts?

Our genes determine who we are to some degree (appearance etc). Our experiences also go into the determination. Is there anything else? How can there be anything besides the interplay of these two factors? If you were "in someone else's shoes", wouldn't you be in the exact same situation as them and think as they do because you would have the same genes and all of the same life experiences up to that point which is what makes them who they are? How is it possible to somehow break out of our genetic and environmental determinants and claim that we are free?

I was flipping through the newspaper the other day and came across a very disturbing news. A child (about a year and a half)was raped and murdered in cold blooded. Please can somebody explain to me why a grown up supposedly the protector of children would be so cruel and inhumanly raped a helpless child of his own seed and then killed her mercilessly? I just don’t understand.. this has got me so depressed as I am trying to have one of my own. Is the world safe for my baby to live in now? HELP!!

I had a dream last night that woke me up.
I have a boyfriend who I am not physically attracted to, so no intimacy, but he is always here for me.
I am in the process of moving and getting a second job.
I was at my new job in my dream and my boyfriend came in and gave me an engagement ring, but there was no diamond in the ring. I thought it was a cruel joke and it woke me up.
Can you tell me what that dream could possibly mean?

In my opinion if we no longer had to import oil starting tomorrow the economic crash would be worst than the one in 1929. Legally the courts rule against any radical economic changes and side with a more moderate approach. This allows the same corrupt and greedy to still control the economy. Is there a better way to approach this problem short term without an economic disaster.

I had a dream I was at a Styx, a rock band, concert and Tommy Shaw, plays guitar, was playing the piano! Then I popped up in this forest and Tommy Shaw was a foot away from me! Then he transformed in to a black mouce. He ran into a tiny whole in a rock. Then a guy came over to Tommy Shaw with a microphone and started singing "Too Much Time On My Hands"! I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!!!!!!
