Ok, so I live with my roommates and I have that only-child syndrome. It's like everything is mine and don't touch. How do I get rid of that habit. I'm aware I h ave it I guess that's a start. I do share but sometimes I find myself caring about the littlest things. How do I get rid of that stupid habit???

Recognizing is the first step...you have it....Admitting is the greatest achievement towards a goal. you have it. Self-pity insults intelligence...You are very intelligent and will overcome it. Caring about littlest things is not a bad things if you have your priorities right.

Be proud and make the change today. Promise yourself that you will have the courage and the determination to move forward to achieve bigger goals.....you have almost started the metamorphosis and not know it....

Do what I tell my kid (only child too). Keep your important stuff in your room. The things you dont want to share. Go in there and use them there or keep them at your parents house, make sure all the things at this house are just crap you dont care about. cheap dishes, whatever. Even your habits, just share those too. Time with roommates is like hanging out, but you have to have your own space and that would be your room or your parents.

I think many "only children" go through the same thing at some point in their lives. It's alright to care about your things but you need to loosen up a bit and share some of your things with a few people you trust. It's also alright to have some special things that you don't share with anyone because of their monetary or sentimental value. You will find sharing with your roomates will make your place feel more peaceful and will build trust in your friendships. I think you should expect people to take care of your things & you theirs and all will be fine. Good luck.

well.....if you want to get rid of this habit so just be strong and gift your favorite and most expensive things to your friend first
then think whatever you get if others also use so you more utilizing that thing.
don't think others using my things but think like God make you able to help others .....
but change in thinking is not easy so just be strong and be witness of your reaction inside when somebody using your things and control you body for few minutes then slowly slowly change come i hope it

realizing it goes a long way! Have a friend that is so like that...watch out, honest what you have is not as important as what you will need through life....friends count, sharing counts , as does giving sometimes when you think nothing will ever come back.....
