There are nuggets of wisdom everywhere, yet most people never stop to consider another point of view. Its the individualistic thinkers that hold the key to alot of problems , Yet the 'group think' that limits us. Can you share the one thing you learned that has- gone against the traditional view of something and is true to you. Why won't people listen or try to understand it?

Some animals can see higher or lower in the light frequency spectrum than humans. Have you ever tried to imagine what kind of colors they were seeing? Humans can only see 10% of the red color frequency for instance.

I can get embarrassed pretty easily, I can get embarrassed over the tiniest thing! Sometimes I'm horrible at math in my class and my teacher asks me a easy question and I get so stressed out and I don't know the answer, I get really embarrassed. I can also get embarrassed speaking in front of people or when I have a solo in singing. How can I get over being so embarrassed? My face also turns red too. Is there something that can calm my stress or keep me from getting so embarrssed all the time?

"Government can and must play the kind of role that it so successfully performed after World War II, in creating the largest middle class in America’s history. Only government can set minimum standards for wages, health coverage, health and safety, paid sick days, retirement security, and the right to organize a union that ensure that hard working Americans have the basics of a decent life. Only government can ensure that families can be both responsible workers and caring family members by updating the outdated workplace practices and supports. Only government can play the pivotal role in leveraging our resources to provide what workers need to succeed in our new global economy, and create the supports for workers and their families as they move across jobs and/or in and out of the labor force as their life and jobs circumstances change over time. And it is government which has an irreplaceable role in ensuring that all children have the tools they need to fulfill their potential..."

I've always taught that if you are intelligent you can make a lot of money. It seemed that I was wrong because I saw a lot of people who graduated at least one college and they've ended up by "cleaning other's people mess"...

Know that beneath your feet, there is a thick layer of gravel. If a vehicle should leave the road suddenly, and just as suddenly break before you, the gravel would disallow it to stop before hitting you. You shouldn't think on this, however, as you're enjoying a Thermos full of coffee.

Please understand that this is merely a hypothetical question.

I admit I am neither a farmer no an economist, but
can anyone imagine a scenario were farm subsidies
end without lots of farmers leaving the business?

1: We have too much farm capability for the economy
to support without subsidies.

2: We don't want to see thousands of farmers forced
into destitution because they can't get a good enough
price because of competition. We treasure the idea
of the "family farm".

Does this mean that we're going to be subsidizing
them forever? Is that what the taxpayer signed up for?

Surely we should be subsidizing them to change
crops to something more self sustaining or education
and training to pick another business.

Am I being cruel or realistic?

they're always trying to fakely fool people like they're really being equal harassing celebs, come on, guess because celeb doesn't mean have high level corrupt connections, these wealthy girls in houston (harris county, last name Dunn) convicted of armed robbery gave probation and have to shelve books in a/c library and tutor, how come they don't mow lawns? like a david medina corrupt district judge put by rick perry and bush failed breathalyzer fake trial and dropped case; also a fed issue, robert blake's attorney even said county jails worse conditions and rights (worse for health, fed issue) than state and federal pens (hot checks worse crime than state or fed felonies), as anyone knows if Paris Hilton was related to a corrupt cop (child, relative or friend) wouldn't have even been charged as well as jailed, cops' kids worst delinquents and drug dealers (pushers) and notorious criminal offenders, that's a proveable fact

I know that we all have opinions about smacking children and, for sure, we're entitled to them, but what is the scientific evidence for its effects? have there been surveys, case studies, etc?

What does the noble science of Psychology have to say about its efficacy or the harm that it entails?

If I understand the theory of evolution correctly, the idea is that, if you divide a population of a species and put them in different environments, they will, over millions of years, evolve into different species. This takes a long time, so, in the mean time, you will see certain small differences between the two groups as they start to evolve into different species. Yet, there is no evidence of human beings evolving into different species. There is no evidence of human beings even beginning to start the very initial stages of evolving into different species. Isn't this enough to disprove the theory of evolution?
