The bear didnt shoot me, that was in another dream (It was quite terrifying, I woke up and had a cramp(no exactly, but similar) where I was shot in the dream and couldnt control my body convulsing.

By repeatedly mauled I meant...I was mauled, then for some strange dream reason it replayed itself twice and EACH time I hit an invisible wall in the hedge while my friends escaped.

Getting shot is believed to represrent the possibility that you are destroying aspects of yourself like if you were changing your personality or have lost interest in things you once loved. This is symbollic of a deep wound within yourself.
A bear in a dream could represent either possessive love or that you are about to recive bad news.
If by mauled you mean that you are getting killed by the bear it represents and end in a cycle or that something in your life is finally over.
Puting it all together your dream is probably representing the idea that you may have reached a crossroad in your life and you are trying to sort through things to figure out what you are supposed to do and in doing so you are changing ang closing the doors to chapters in your life.
Hope this helped.

Getting shot by a bear? I've never heard of that.
I think it's a legitimate fear to have, especially if you see them a good bit. They might be conspiring after you.
Dreams are only expressions of unconscious thought brought to the forefront.
And - one more thing. You can't be mauled by a bear repeatedly. After one mauling, you're pretty much done.

Unless you live in an area where there are bears I wouldn't worry a whole lot about it. I think we all dream about things we like. Getting shot, that I can't figure out. I know you don't want to be shot. You might want to see someone in the mental health area. That's not a slam, things can become "unglued" for anyone at anytime.

The bear is symbolic of introspection and self-reflection.
To dream that you are being pursued or attacked by a bear, denotes aggression, overwhelming obstacles and competition.
The dream may also be a pun on "bare". Perhaps you need to bare your soul and let everything out into the open

Being mauled by a bear can represent a fight that you perceive to be winless. Is there something in you're life that you feel you cant have or cant get? Like a job or a partner or something else quite specific.

More likely an indication of some unresolved issues creating tension. Look around -- bad job / school / home life? Personal relationships?

This particular dream speaks of betrayal and persecution from one who professes to love you.
