i know this rule does not apply to every family. but lately i've spending time with different families and it seems mine included that the first born tend to be smarter and more together than their siblings. any insight on this phenomenon? i'm looking for all posibilities not just common knowledge such as the first born babies get more attention because they are the first and this facilitates more faster growth and learning creating the foundation of their intelligence.
one out of the box idea i had is that generally speaking when a woman has her first baby she is more likely to be physiologically at her peak and when she has her second or third, her body may have hit a threshold and consequently underperform having an affect on the childs DNA. just a thought. i'm just curious to know what everyone else thinks.

What is it about anger in a man that gets women going? I mean, seeing a woman angry makes me want to run for cover.

How come most poor and/or low class people can't pay their fair way, or feed themselves and their numerous brats, yet they ALL will own numerous 100lb+ monsters?

What is it about being poor or low-class that dictates you must have a huge, usually agressive dog?

It's cool to disagree with me, but I challange anyone who does so to go down to the ghetto and take a look.

Thoughts?

I've stuttered off & on ever since I was a kid. I'm a pretty successful, good looking guy, and will be starting at a dream firm after my MBA soon. But in spite of these things, I don't feel comfortable about myself because of my problem. I'm generally a confident guy and have no problem raising my hand and talking in class -or- talking to people, but sometimes, when I can feel a stutter coming on, I refrain from these things. I get the feeling that people confuse my handicap for a lack of confidence and think I'm being aloof. The truth is I really ENJOY being around people, but I don't want to get embarrased. The stuttering is affecting my social/dating life and will likely be an obstacle to advance in the fast paced corporate world where I will have to make presentations in front of groups shortly. I try to be positive about all this, but I'm not happy with myself. This discontent likely comes through when I'm talking to people (girls in particular). What should I do?

The other day I had a dream that a former classmate of mine committed suicide by jumping off of a pedestrian bridge over the West Side Highway in New York City. It wasn't like we were very close in real life but there he was in the middle of my dream. Any one have any ideas about what this dream could mean.

I've just always gotten weirdly turned on whenever I see a woman cry. Am I abnormal? Is that bad? Tell me I'm not the only one. Come on

Ever since I was thirteen, I have been keenly aware that we are constantly sizing up new people that we meet. We also show subtle signs of dominance.submission like who goes first thru a door way or who sets the conversation. It kind of like dogs sniffing each other, except we luckily do not have good noses, so we rely on body language instead. What do you think?

I often wonder.... why do the bottom-feeding lower classes of society (and I do not necessarily mean the poor, I am refering to the human waste in the world, you know who they are) think and act like they are entitled to anything?

If you don't pull your weight in the world, I think you need to fall out. If you can't support yourself, you shouldn't have 4 kids, then cry because welfare payments don't enable you to get a new car and live in a nice house.

Why are people who choose to live in a place that is frequented by hurricanes DEMANDING cash 'aid' a year and a half after the event? It's not asked for, it's DEMANDED.

Thoughts?

My ex husbands first wife was like this, could only love one person at a time. When someone new came into her life (dog, son, daughter, husband), she would 'drop' the one she loved so much before and stop loving them completely and stop spending time with them. Now I think that my boyfriend is doing the same thing. When he was married before, he wouldn't spend time with the kids at all. When he met me 19 months ago, he rarely saw his kids. Now that we are living about 10 blocks away from them, he spends a lot of time with them, but he says he doesn''t love me as any more than a friend. What in the world is this called? Can this be cured? Woulld therapy possibly help?

Do you think that a good portion of today's 20-somethings are affected by this? In what ways and to what extent? Just interested in what you have to say (oh and including your age would be helpful - an age range....ex: 25-30 (my age group) if you don't feel comfortable telling your exact age).....thanks :)
