1. It is your mind intertaning itself while you sleep.
2. It is you subconcious trying to tell you something in a very messed up way..

You have a body that will age and die, a soul that will not die, and a spirit that already is dead (tho Jesus says He'll make it alive again if you ask Him, so you can talk to God.)
Thus, your soul is eternal, and your spirit is potentially eternal. You have daily (nightly?) evidence of this by the fact that your mind experiences things even while your body is unconscious. The Bible regularly refers to those who have "died" as "asleep." The point is that, in the grand scheme of things, there is little difference.
(This would mean that hell is a "living nightmare." Creepy, huh?)

I think its the our subconcious mind helping us get through things we deal will through the day or even in our lives. Most visual dreams do not make much sense to me,or anyone i think. The key thing is what you "feel" when you dream, not necessarily what you 'see"...to interpret dreams you kinda have to look outside the square, so to speak. Like for example, i used to have the same kinda dreams quite frequently, with the same feeling, i dont have children, but in my dream id have "unexpectedly" a baby to look after, id go in full "panic" mode because i "Felt" out of control by not knowing how to care for the infant, as it totally depended on "ME"....Now, at this time in my life, i was going through a time of adolescent change and growth - i had a lot of worries in my life and fear of the future, sense of the unknowing frightened me...these dreams impacted my day so much that it helped me change and grow. And now i feel in control and i take notice of my dreams adn have learnt to interpret them myself. I guess one has to be of open-mindness to believe what i believe.

We need to dream to get good sleep for our health. REM sleep is the deep sleep that keeps us well. Most people recall few of their dreams, but do dream regularly.

the brain is active, and creates data in place of the senses that have been put on hold. without stimuli the brain would go into overdrive, it demands sensation. so it creates a safe zone of sensation via dreams.

unresolved issue? whatever...
