I've never smoked and wondered why people do it. Does it give you a buzz somehow?

My personal proof that my mind thinks that time is moving faster when I wake up is because of this fact-when I used to wake up in the mornings when I was young, the very first thing I would do is run downstairs and play video games. But when I started the game up and heard the main music, it wasn't at a normal rate. It was at a slightly faster rate. The funny thing is that everything else was moving at a normal rate in the game, and obviously in real life.

But one other major point. If I think is that all that is going faster is the music, than it may in fact be related to aural perception in the morning. After a few minutes, the feeling of the music going fast naturally goes away-I just don't notice it after a few minutes. I was wondering if anybody knows why I feel this way in the morning. Is my mind more perceptive after a rest, and I pick up the sounds faster? Or is it just a natural phenomenon in relation to how the mind works?

Whenever I ask a question here it is because I need an answer right? so, whenever I do find an answer that I find good I choose it and let the person who gave the answer know that it was a good answer and it helped.
So tell me this, why do people ask questions that they apparently "need an answer to urgently" and then just leave the question open till the end of time without choosing a best answer? It just baffles me...Any ideas?

i hate being shy but i dont know how to change it. i get tongue tied all the time. at times i cant look people in the eye. i say words i didnt mean to say. everything just comes out so wrong. i think it has to do mostly with me getting picked on as a kid. i know im not a kid anymore, but somethings just stick.

I don't mean from something that was going on in real life, like you hit your head on a lamp or something while you were asleep, I mean pain that has nothing to do with what is going on in the world that's awake.. I've been struggling with these recurring dreams since I was 3... That's why I'm asking.

Okay, put aside whether her comments about Steve Irwin were valid (I think a consensus has been reached on this). Does anyone think it was okay to publish this garbage the day after he died?

Was this just the desperate attempt of a has been to get noticed? Is simply trying to get noticed what she has been trying to do for the last 40 years?

How else can we explain her book "the beautiful boy" which contains 200 photos of teenage boys and caused the guardian to describe her as a "middle aged pederast"?

and that all your friends had died and / or moved on with their lives in some way that made it impossible for you to re-connect....

What exactly would you do in order to find and form new, quality friendships? (Keep in mind you are still struggling with your medical problems (which, in turn, cause frequent fatigue and depression, so it is tough to BE a good friend too!)

In my Anthropology 101 course several semesters ago we studied an indigenous tribe, I believe in south America, who believed something like "A life without killing a man isn't worth living." I was wondering if anyone knew the name of this tribe? I'm pretty sure the Koran was their religious text. Anyone know what the name of this tribe is?

This co-worker started working 3 weeks ago. I have been working there 6 years without a problem with anyone. It started on his first day of work. He invaded my work area and began showing me the "right way" to do my job. I notifyed my supervisor and he talked to him. Now he is saying that I think I am tough because ive been there longer than him. I never even talk to him! he also said that I ran crying to the supervisor because he was offering tips. he was flat out bossing me around and telling me what to do. I wont put up with this and I want him gone. what shoud I do to get him to quit or get him fired? he is trying to spread lies but everyone knows me well enough that I didnt say those things. thanks.
