I've been in factories for 33 yrs and worked around every type of person and personality there is. So next time you see him(first thing Mon. morning)Look him in the eye and say "When I want your help , I'll ask for it!!!! If I want advice , I'll ask someone who's opinion "I VALUE"!!!!!! You see this space ? In here WE ALL HAVE A WORK AREA AND THIS IS MINE!!!! Use your toe to draw the imaginary line. After this point say "NOW , DO NOT F--K WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!! you SHOULD HAVE SAID ALL THIS BEFORE YOU WENT TO THE BOSS. GO TO A UNION STEWARD TOO BEFORE YA GO TO THE FOREMAN ( if ya got a union, that is) So now, it's time o become ONE TUFF COOKIE!!!!!! and tell him this Mon morning. Remember this though, You Will be working around people for yrs to come so,if you can ( and I recommend ya do) try not to hold grudges cause you Will be around each other for yrs to come, If he abides by what ya say, than let by goners be by goners and maintain a civil type relationship. aND THEN ,THERE ARE THOSE WHO CAN LOOK AT AN OPERATION AND COME UP WITH A BETTER WAY TO DO A JOB

Start again with your immediate supervisor than start working your way up the food chain. It has been a while since I have had to deal with a co-worker this bad, but more often than not I wound up go finding myself another job. Because encounters like these usually happened in jobs where I was making ten dollars an hour or less, so since that those jobs are generally a dime a dozen, it didn't hurt so bad. I actually have a job now that requires you to be smart and others around you must be as well, so in an environment like that usually there are less idiots like the one you describe. If your job is a really good career and you are in it for the long haul, like I said go back to your supervisor, than manager than HR. This may be bordering on harassment, and you may actually have a case. This idiot sounds like a real nut job. Hope I helped. Good luck!!!

When someone is hired there is usually a probationary period. It is usually 90 days. I don't know exactly what it is where you work. Anyway, anyone can be fired at anytime during that period for any reason. Your boss may be hanging on to him just long enough to replace him. My husband has done that at his place of business. If he hires someone who disrupts the flow of things, he will keep them long enough to hire and train a replacement.
If that isn't the case, then go to your boss and tell them you can't work with this person, and see what they do. My daughter is an office manager at a large store and they manager retired 2 years ago. The guy they replaced him did not get along with my daughter. She went to the corporate office and explained that she could not work with this guy and she wanted either a transfer or she was going to have to quit. They fired the new manager.
I wish you all the luck, it can suck to work with soemone like that.

Put yourself in her place...would you like it if someone, i.e. your boss, planned on getting rid of you? No job's secure. You can be replaced faster than you can say your name. She could very well be connected to someone higher up. No longer is it What You Know-it's Who You Know. I'd nicely ask her again to start taking notes. If she refuses, just tell your boss-and document. You're working in a law firm that's connected to judiciary, and you're scheming to get rid of an employee...do you understand what you're saying? Unfortunately this is what the workplace has evolved into: a minefield. People being devious, kissing-up, backstabbing, undermining, set-ups, not minding their business, gossips. The best thing to do at this point is to go back to your supervisor and ask for meeting with this person, you, your supervisor, and HR/Risk Management so that these issues can be addressed. If your supervisor and/or HR/Risk Management is doing their job the issues of this employees bullying will be addressed at this time and a warning will be placed to ensure that this does not happen again. Most work places enforces a zero tolerances in any type of harrassment in today's work environment. Hope this helps you.

You are in a difficult situation to say the least! He will be found out for the busybody he is. Be patient and stay away from him and by all means keep your nose clean! Now is the time to do your best and most thoughtful work for your boss.
You need to shine the way your boss knows you can and show the boss and get the credit because the "new guy" will try to steal your thunder, mark my word! "Oh, yeah I gave him/her the idea to do that." he will say! Or, "Finally! I told him to do that a long time ago!" Things like that.
But, your boss is not blind, so as long as you already have a reputation for delivering the goods, I don't think you need to worry much. Good luck!

People like this need to be met head on. The next time he comes up with nonsense like this, bring the supervisor in and invite him to tell the supervisor what he just told you. After he is through running his mouth...take your turn. Introduce your supervisor to him and let him know the supervisor is doing a fine job and as far as you know, he does not have that job. Next set boundaries, tell him that he has a job to do and rather than interrupting you, he needs to concentrate on his own work. Then confront him about the conversations that have come to your attention and again, tell him that rather than disrupting others and talking trash, he needs to do his job. While this is going down, stare straight at him and do not back down. Good luck.

There are people like this and my advice is to bear it. Often their superficial knowledge begins to show and they are removed. He will focus on anyone he feels to be inferior to his own level and will even try to move up the ladder to supervisors and others...that is where he will trip up. I am sure that at night he will go home and barg to any available ear how he had to correct you. It is pompous and foolish but it is his personality...he was frustrated as a child and because of his lack of effort or perhaps opportunity failed to achieve his goal, so now he feels that he must exert himself to ensure that others know of his 'great' talent. Just suffer it, is my advice. Be patient, keep your job and ignore him insofar as possible. Going to your supervisor makes you look weak in the supervisor's eyes so avoid that.

He sounds like a real a**hole. I know its hard, but try to ignore him if possible and don't stoop to his level. Let him cook his own goose..You don't want to let him get the best of you. He'll probably be gone in a month or two, if not sooner.

Kill him with kindness. Smile, smile and smile even more. When he gives you his "tips" say thanks, then just do it the way you know is correct. Let him play boss while you just keep smiling. Eventually he will move on to another person and probably end up out of a job.
