So far I have nailed down 5 types.

1)Teenager with nothing better to do.

2)The Stay At Home Mom whose kids are old enough to be in school

3)The Professor/Grad Student that is asking "human nature" questions.

4)Young adults or college students who don't have "standard hours" jobs and are trying to race a ruckus.

5)The antithesis of number 4, The Older adults who are here to create more ruckus off of other people's ruckus.

I guess I would be type 6) The working person who on his/her lunchbreak being a little bit of 1-5.

What types have I missed?

I teach psychology and am constantly trying to find examples of "tricks" I can use to demonstrate ESP or perhaps how some frauds are able to trick people into believing they have it. I'm looking for simple tricks I can use in class. Please provide websites if possible.

My son just started kindergarten and they are already trying to get money from me with a fundraiser by selling products. On one side they want my son to sell things but then say to not let your kid go door-to-door. That leaves relatives and my co-workers. Relatives aren't going to say no and my co-workers are going to feel obligated to buy so then will I when they bring their thing around. I never had one of these when I was growing up!
Also there are all these "home party" companies that get stay at home moms involved by having them get thier friends together and they will get a discount on items based on how much thier friends by. Friends feel obligated to attend and then obligated to buy.

It all stems from the business people knowing people will buy in order to not feel guity for not buying!

Why is this now a social norm?

I was informed that it started as above. Then the eccles migrated through the yorks of england, to the borders & berwick in scotland, across to dumphries in scotland, then "the lost eccles" may now be in lancashire england. There are a number of eccles scattered about the the uk, brit commonwealth countries, us, etc.

When my sister was a teen she was in a horrific accident and enduring some serious back injuruies. Her doctor perscribed her oxy contin and she had been on them for years, she recently decided that enough was enough and enrolled in a methodone clinic. She was pulled over the other day for speeding and ended up in jail because the police officers found her medication. She said that they treated her like pure scum and called her a heroin addict in front of her children. If you found out htat someone you know was on methadone what would you think? Do you think the police officer was justified?

Everyday I worry about something so much that it's nearly impossible to function. I started seeing a counselor about 3 weeks ago, and so far it's not helping. Should I just break down and see a psychiatrist and get on meds? Or should I wait out the counselor?

I'd really like to hear from other anxiety sufferers and get your opinions. Thank you!

I was involved with my barber for about a year or so and I wanted more but he said we were just friends and come to find out he was doing his ex whom he lived with for four years. I found myself making appointments with him then he was like "I'll let you know" one day so I decided to break it off.

Took a test online 2 years ago which showed on a scale if you are one to make excuses (blame) or take personal responsibility. Can not locate it. Does anyone know where it might be located or something like it?

Fair question. In a P.C. world if someone makes a comment about black people, muslims, Jews, Catholics and Protestants their is always a majority backlash in the name of equality.

On occassion these backlashes can be ideallic, even self-righteous and a lot of the time I feel people just say what they know is socially acceptable rather than what they really think.

Do you have any right to repremand someone who uses the word nig.ger if you've ever laughed or told a Michael Jackson joke, or made fun of chavs or Gypsies? Have you ever laughed at the jokes in South Park depicting Jews as stereotypes? Have you ever crossed the street to avoid a group of black youths, chavs or skin heads? Have you ever made fun of blondes or ginger people? Is that not a form of bigotry and prejudice?

Is there such a thing as good natured racism? Or sensible racism? Are there more socially acceptable forms of bigotry than others? Or is everyone accountable for their comments regardless?
