yes, all I did was sleep, I did not even care about anything this went on for about 3 months. One day I got to go to the bathroom and my little dog Angel got on my bed and kicked off all my blankets and pillows and set in the middle with her favorite toy as if to say enough is enough you are going to play with me and that was how I got out of my depression.

Depressed- me? Oh yes! Well, the first thing is to recognize the symptoms....and if it is a one time thing for a short period, or if it is a continuous or permanent situation.
I have lived with depression for most of my life and the worse thing is that I have not had any formal psychological help...
In the past I had a friend who I could always rely on but, now he is married and I dint think it is wise to burden him....
Well, I as many others, am currently studying psychology searching for answers I suppose....but yes I understand all about the tiring sadness, and racing thought rushing threw my head. And even as I sleep (If I can) my mind seems like a restless computer that never wants to turn off.... of watching the clock late at night wishing it will go faster, or simply crying and praying to the Lord(in the past), not wanting to see another day.....
I know of many feelings that hurt so much, even a tranquil way, that seems there are no words to describe such pain...
But I try to focus on the positive and keep telling myself: Tomorrow might be a brighter day, and I am here to stay!
Have a little faith, the Lord might light your way.....

There are several drugs available to help you in your situation. Sometimes different drugs must be tried before the right one is found. Drug therapy alone does not always work. The most effective method of treating depression is a combination of drugs and therapy. Talk to your doctor. Life doesn't have to be like this. Ask her to recommend a therapist, councelor, or psychiatrist. Group therapy is often helpful as well.
May you find peace and happiness. It can take awhile, but you WILL laugh again. Hang in there.

Had it, have it probably always will have it. Tried anti-depressants (Prozac) for about a week and while it was quite fun being spaced out it didn't address or cure the problem so I never touched them again. I use diet to control my depression. I know the right foods to eat and avoid-alchohol is the most deadly- and the right things to do to alleviate it but I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I can't get rid of it permanently.

You are certainly not alone. Millions of people suffer from this disease. I am on lexapro, klonopin & seroquel and still suffer a degree of chronic depression. I imagine that the meds keep me from going over the top, but a cure, certainly not for me. That dosn't mean that meds and therapy will not be an enormous help to you. Don't despair:)

Yes I have had depression. Yes guilt is part of depression. But guilt does not solve anything. The best thing to know about depression is that your not alone and that a lot of people have depression. Finding a trusting professional to talk about anxieties is the way to go. Keeping any anxieties to yourself only makes you feel more isolated in a problem.
Be patient with yourself and it is OK to feel sad and cry that make us human..

Yes, In my case I was making bad choices fighting with my husband, I had suffered 3 miscarriages in 2 years. I tried medication. They made me feel better BUT they made me feel numb. I got pregnant again and stopped taking them. I lost my baby again at 20 weeks but i noticed how much better i felt w/out the drugs.
Not sure if this helps God bless and Good luck

Yes I suffer from depression, but not all the time. I know when it's time to call the Dr. and get my prescription filled. I cry alot or am angry about small stuff that would not normally bother me. I have lived with it for years and have accepted it. Life is much nicer now for me.

Yes, I had the same thing. I found out that I was Bipolar II. Now I take Lithium and Effexor and feel much better. It sounds like you need a mood stablizer.
Check out the link and see if it sounds familiar.
