I hear there are lots of mental wards and such places in the States as well as in other countries. They say that madness/insanity is trying the same thing over and over that has never worked and hoping it will work. I've observed that people in mental facilities and such places (and even people who function in life but with psychiatric meds) are either in the same condition, worse, or in "an okay state". The professionals hate to flat out say, "We don't know what we're dealing with" or "We don't have the answers." (Besides, they need to keep their jobs.) So many big words are in use because no one wants to take a look at the spiritual side of things. So many wrong diagnoses. In our world, "If it can't be explained, we'll file it away and avoid it." It IS okay to not know. In my own research, things like nightmares and mental illnesses are often misdiagnosed and shoved aside only to have a person suffer in silence or to have the same issues manifest at later times in life.

I am try to understand what are some possible effects about outcasts from a pychological view. I personally went to a small new high school and was in a class with 8 people . unfortunately I was the outcast of the group. I didn't really like that particular school and have found it difficult to connect with others after this experience. I am looking for details so I can get a better definition os what being an outcast means.

I know that this sounds like an odd question, but I have really wondered about it due to my recent experiences. I have been around other intelligent people throughout much of my life, be it in grade school, college, and beyond.

Recently, I have started a career change and am temping while exploring my options. The people I work with at my temp job aren't complete idiots but at the same time they aren't the brightest people in the world.

For the first time in my life, its not automatically understood that I am smart. On one hand, I shouldn't really care, but it still bothers me. There is a certain amount of training involved for the job which I find ridiculously easy, but the supervisor still is always double checking my work and overexplaining things. I need a job while I apply to grad school, but this is driving me crazy.

So, does one need to be smart to understand "their own kind". Any advice on how to handle this situation would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Truly pretty women doubt their looks. The smart girls question their ideas. The funny girls think they are being made fun of. Only the mean girls defend themselves with ***** armor. Where are the girls that have all four traits evenly mixed?

Since 2004 I have been trying but most of the courses proposed are for American citizens as they ask for the ZIP code I can provide. I am a religious student from Africa studying in Jerusalem.

I think genius is specific to a skill or situation because people can be brilliant at one thing and retarded at another.

Hi, I am a 26 year old man and have found the perfect girl. She is beautiful, smart, caring, and funny. The one problem is I have a strange fetish that I don't feel I can talk to her about. I am turned on by women sleeping or being put to sleep, whether it be with sleeping gas, hypnosis (a personal favorite), or chloroform. I would never do anything to hurt anyone. I mostly like things like that as portrayed in old spy movies and comic books and hypnosis shows. I feel guilty about having this fetish and wonder if its normal or if I should tell her at all. I would be interested in trying some role play with her but feel she will reject me and think I am disgusting if I mention it. What should I do? I love being with her an am satisfied without bringing my fetish into our sex life, however I would be even more happy telling her about it. So...yeah...that's my question. It's two fold. Is the fetish normal, and...should I tell her or just forget it? Thanks in advance

I am unconfortable with other people and their kids, and would rather be alone, reading/crocheting/ or listening to music, and I am more comfortable being by myself rather than in a crowd. i go shopping, talk to ppl, and interact with them, when i need to, and go to places where ppl gather, but i really like to be alone. i am really nervous around other ppls kids, because one has to be careful what one says when they become rude and the parent thinks they can do no wrong. I mean, it's not as if i am agoraphobic, but i fear I may be becoming that way.I really like to be home, with my kids, rather than be out in public.I just feel more comfortable and safer that way.Am I anti-social? according to the definition of it, I am supposed to steal, lie, destroy property, and i don't do those things. Ok, I don't lie... often. But I definitly don't do the other two things. Am i crazy, or just a homebody? Can someone help me? I was labelled that one day because i don't like ppl, and i am not a ppl person

I did something that I am not proud of. I live with my mother and my brother. A week ago, for some strange reason my mother decided to try something new for lunch, “Mountain Oysters”. I thought they were some kind of oysters, but they did not seemed like oysters at all, they just looked like big oval balls, about the size of two softballs. Anyway, when she told us that they were bull testicles….first I was shocked, then started laughing. My brother was just staring at them with a serious face. But then I noticed that my brother begin to blush, and I could not help but to laugh uncontrollable at him, and my mother too. Then she left to do some more shopping. First I was joking with him about the oysters, then got courage and picked up one of the “oysters” to embarrassed him even more. THEN I got a little carried away and without thinking just throw the “ball” very hard into his balls!!! He doubled over to his knees and then fell to the side, his face became pale, he was down for more than five minutes, and the sight of him holding his balls with the big ball just next to him was too much for me, and I laughed so hard that I had tears in my eyes! He then got up, and was real mad, and just locked himself in his room. He never told my mother, I guess he was too embarrassed. He did not eat the oysters, lol.
Now I feel kinda bad for him. What can I do?
