I really enjoy this, but i find that i spend too many hours reading answers, then asking questions, answering them...i mean, there are worse things to be addicted to, yet i know this is not a constructive way of spending time...i want to stop, and yet, here i am , asking another question. i think i like this better than going out..how can i stop?

hi,
I have a friend who is very smart and can outdo any logical argument on why cheating is wrong. He has a lovely girlfriend and keeps cheating on her. I have stated the obvious (it damages trust, it makes the other person feel inadequate, std´s...) but he always comes away with a logical reason why it really doesn´t matter. in his favor, his girlfriend seem open to it, or at least turns a blind eye...what can i say?? should i simply give up? I don´t know why i get so angry about it!

I would like to make a special request that you answer this question after having spent at most 10 minutes reading something called The Premise. It is quite captivating and insightful about humans' approach to understanding the world (hence i have put this under anthropology). It provides, to me, a fascinating introduction to the stress that comes with having the ability to be self-conscious, and the ways in which we try to deal with this stress.

The Premise is from a book called 'the god part of the brain'. The Premise is located at:

http://www.godpart.com/html/the_premise.html

The Premise is not reproduced here because it is too long to include, and only requires a click to get to through the above link.

I respectfully request that answerers participate in this question after familiarising themselves with the entire premise.

Thanks! :-)

anthropomorphism is: the tendency to attribute human motivations, characteristics, or other attributes to non-human things (like weather, nature, etc.).

this idea comes from:

http://www.godlessgeeks.com/WhyAtheism.htm

where it says: ...we often anthropomorphize animals and even objects — giving them “human” qualities. The god concept can be seen as simply the result of people anthropomorphizing the universe. - Mark Thomas, Why Atheism?

I'm of Puerto Rican decent. Outside of baseball, singers, and acting, there haven't been many notable Puerto Rican men. No Puerto Rican president, billionair, CEO, world renown scientist, etc... However, I do not feel oppressed nor that the world owes me anything. No one has to give their money, job, and/or position to a Puerto Rican just because they may bicker or form a lawsuit. If anyone has wrong a Puerto Rican/Hispanic, they should apologize, not the whole world.

Why do feminists beleive if they are not in control or "on top" they are oppressed? Why do feminists believe the world owes them everything?

tornado hit, lightening strike, hail attack(sort of like stoning), multiple car wrecks, plane crash, bombarded by rabid grannies, had issues with the paparazzi, caused anyone to cry, used vegitables for sex and lived, bad bathroom experiences, talked to either your shadow or others, gone insane and liked it. eaten soup with a fork and told it was the best ever, run over by a train and both parts of you went on to party that night, car crash with safety bags pounding you to a pulp, beaten up a pit bulls, went surfing in a hurricane, sky diving aerial attacks, had sex with an animal and have video tape, gone to jail to be more like OTIS, acted out and then were crushed by the audience, cheated on your partner and then found out he or she did too, mauled by tigers, trampled by elephants, attacked by thousands of gnats, stung by bees and enjoyed the pain, been sued by the IRS and laughed it off, ate bad food and could not wait for seconds, left a tip more than 30%, screamed at people dead

Why or why not? Assuming old and new pageants as this continue to grow in popularity, how will it effect our society?

Remember, this is in refference to the beauty pageant, not body building.

While other races tend to scurry to the other side in an apologetic manner, especially if they cross when the light is turning green? Meanwhile, African Americans take their time.

This question is NOT meant to incite an argument nor am I racist but I would be interested in knowing if this is a cultural thing or some kind of "stick it to the man" gesture, as one of my friends suggested.

I live in a high pedestrian area and African Americans tend to cross the street in front of my car while the light is green, too! Expecting me to stop. Which, of course, I have to.

I would like some intelligent responses, thank you.

Specifically, the question is about if you would (physically) save a stranger's life in a dangerous area that could jeopardize your own life; such examples include in a middle of a storm, on a sinking ship, or etc.? [Making a phonecall to rescue services is excluded.]

Have you ever experienced something strange going on, which you couldn't explain. Twice in my life I have experienced a feeling of something is there, without knowing what. Once I was in the basement of a older house, and the air felt like I could cut it with a knife, like electricity or something. Like there is a energy towards you?
