Why or why not? Assuming old and new pageants as this continue to grow in popularity, how will it effect our society?

Remember, this is in refference to the beauty pageant, not body building.

Either. Perhaps not-so-good-looking girls will do ANYTHING to get good looks, which is a bad thing... coz they tend to forget inner-beauty. Then beauties being praised of beauty and wits (they test intelligence by the questions in the competition, right?) I see nothing wrong in that. And pervertish guys swooning to look at them... Let them be ... Ugh

Neither. They have been around for some time, don't see why it affects society unless you imply that we are going to turn into absolute meatheads from watching stuff like this.

OR, if you mean that women are viewed as objects which, frankly, is usually an objection made by women who are not that good looking as good looking AND smart women know how to use their wiles for all their worth.
