I took a bus today and I noticed a fly moving back and forth on the bus. I’m not sure how fast a fly can go but wouldn't it be difficult for it to do that. The bus was going about 35 miles per hour.
How do you explain that?
Seeing as though the speed of the bus isn't being transferred to the fly.
Just musing

Ok, the other day somebody posted a question about a Japanese scientist who did an experiment where he exposed water to different thoughts and then gave them to plants to see if they had an effect on the plants. Does anybody else know this experiment? The guys name, a link to information on the experiment. I really want to know more about it but can't find any info on it.

Especially if a huge amount did. ( Which, I guess would be unlikely ).. Also, what if dark matter did?

Thanks!

Farmer brown claims that a very powerful radio transmission antenna next to his land has caused sparks to jump along the wire in a fence gate, and from there onto one of his sheep.

The inspection of the site indicates that the gate is made of three strands of barb wire that are each 3.00m long. An inspection of the antenna shows that it is oriented vertically and is transmitting a signal of 6.67* 10 to the power of 5 Hz . You decide that this is highly unlikely . Describe at least 2 reasons why the evidence makes Farmer Brown's case suspicious . Show any supporting calculations.

PLS HELP ME !!!!!!

this one's rarer but more paradoxial than the twin paradox, although the possibilities are either Newtonian or Einsteinian.
well it goes thus:
Newton said that orbits are reversible. That means light striking on a mirror normally will strike back at the same speed normal to the mirror. The confrontation comes when we theoritically assume a light source near to a black hole, but not so near, emitting a photon ray which hits a mirror kept on the surface of the black hole. According to simple non relativistic motion, i.e. Newtonian motion, the photon which bounce back leaving the black hole to reach the source again. But this aint possible according to Einstein relativity. accrd. to that, the photon will not accelarate more than c in its journey upto the mirror, but if it bounces back, the gravity will decelarate it down and it will never leave a certain sphere with finite radius.

I am wondering ..
I realize it is called a " solar system" because the sun is the center of the system of planets. Now i am wondering if there is some scientific reason that it could not be the opposite. A planet in the center with stars orbiting it.
Is this possible?

A cable is wrapped around a secured pulley in the shape of a solid cylinder (1/2mr^2) with rotational inertia I= 0.250 kg-m^2 and radius R = 0.500 m. The cylinder rotates without friction. The free of the end of the cable is connected to a vertically hanging block of mass m = 1.0 kg

a.) What is the magnitude a of the block's downward acceleration?
b.) what is the tension T in the cable?

c.) Suppose the blocks drops from rest through a vertical distance h = 2.0 m. What is the speed v at the speed of this motion?

I don't understand the meaning of "space" in this context. If we take say a quartz crystal there are no spaces in it as the atoms are completely compacted together. I read that the angle between cystal faces is controlled by the spacing between lattice points. Are lattice points like the centre of atoms? Any help would be appreciated.
